LED vs. HID Double Ended Bulb

Incandescent is the future bitches! I got a closet full of some purple og super disel og skunk growing under a few 'warm' 40watters...I made sure to put them into some coco and not feed them for a couple weeks. Soon I'll completely defoliate them and make sure to hang a bunch of no pest strips in there. I'll flower them for approx 7 weeks, making sure almost all of the trichs are clear, then probably blast some oil using my 'stove top, windows closed' method. I don't know what all this LED vodoo is about, I'm just gonna stick to the ol' tried and true methods...

Of course that is a joke, but I often run into growers who are so set in their ways any talk about a new lighting system sends them into a regurgitation fit of the pros of HID lighting and cons of LED. I'm always looking for the advantage, or the next best thing. Growers who originally used HID lighting always went with MH all the way through until someone discovered the red in HPS resulted in tighter buds and increased yield. If you ever run into an old timer(a really old timer, lol), there is a good chance they STILL use and prefer MH all the way through. It's what they have always done, and it works for them so they're reluctant to change even in the face of cold hard facts...I'm really trying to be open to new technology, as I don't want to become an 'old man, set in his ways' and sell myself short.

Anyone that tries flowering with chinese mystery LEDs is going to be disappointed. The vast majority of panels are in this category. They are 20% efficient and HPS is 36% efficient. So if you want to flower with LED you have to use LEDs that are 30% efficient or better. If you build you own you can get up to 56%. Those are the facts.

In my case I scrapped 2400W of HPS for 1200W of LED. That is a LOT less heat to manage and yields are higher than my best HPS results, so that means LED is outperforming the HPS by more than 2X. It also means that I can pack more light in that space than HPS can provide. That increase in yield helps pay for the up front cost, not just the electrical savings.

The bottom line is, if I went back to HPS it would be a major loss of production.
What type of led 1200 do you use?

What i find amazing is RIU's LED and other lighting section is probaley the most rapid growing community/forum that is soon to bypass the other forums(and for good reason), And thats because there is a future to LED!

Whats even more amusing is we have hid growers coming in here talking shit just because themselves or some one they know grew with SHIT panels and had a SHIT product.

Im blessed to have experience of 15+ yrs of growing and smoking california's TOP SHELF, that being said, my Quality of led herb stands out, even to the un trained eye.

Averaging 44-55 zips for 3x600s? Cool must be dank? Must get 2-300 a oz? Balling? Invest in a SMALL but GOOD quality led. Will cost you about 5-10 of those 45-55 zipps you get.

What breed is that? Looks tasty

Is it fair to say you get decent results from your leds? Some people in here are very pissy about them. I work in a big factory, and we have been converting our standard hid 400s for 150 watt leds that are equivalent to 400 watt hids. Man you can really tell the difference in the building now. So I am ready to convert
