LED vs HPS

I don't disagree with any of that, but of course the sword swings both ways.

$10K? You sure? I think it's usually around double that, but maybe depends on where you're at. I have an off-grid solar panel I use for ventilation of my lung room, and clone lights. Cost around $500 the the 200w panel, charge controller, and two 12v marine batteries. I know I'm not making my money back on the investment, but I like to tinker, and like the fact that I have a bit of backup power when the apocalypses come.
I can get 1930e for $1,000 with warranty out the door. So if I'm replacing eight 1000w de fixtures it'd be 8k to swap over. Just I haven't seen them in person yet so it's hard to pull the trigger. I might try 4 of them on one row then keep the double enders on the other row. Time will tell.. lol I factor a few more hundred dollars for 240v extension cords etc..

This would be an awesome thread to start up on this site - DIY solar panel / battery arrays to actually put a dent in ones power consumption :peace:

Hps is a headache to dial in but once it’s dialed its better than leds in my humble opinion

I have 6 gavita 1700s my last run with all led the plants were nice but with the two hps the buds were more dense not by a lot but after trimming i noticed a slight difference yield is not the same but that could be my fault

this run is 4 1700s in one room I’ll see how it goes

In my personal space I have a tx680 from sun system that’s dope u need the pdx controller to operate it properly but I like the design and quality

Do you like the 1930 over the 1700? Isn't the 1930 900 watts?

Its new. You already don't want to understand i can tell. So no I won't explain. You called me ridiculous and some other foul names so no. No more explaining.
I called your statement that switching from hps to led mid-cycle will result in "way more yield" ridiculous, which it is.
Likely more yield than sticking with an hps light for the whole grow, but I don't sense that's what you meant.
It seems you're suggesting some positive effect from switching the spectrum mid-flower?

I'm all ears, please do explain.
