Leds grow Lights Questions/Help

hi all,

let me start by saying that i have no intention to get spoonfed (the next time lol) i will do all my research after that, i have just some questions before i start my journey of a cannabis grower :)

i'm a complete newbie and i would like to start growing with leds, i watched Gromau5 videos about building your own led lights (excellent videos btw) but there is somethings i don't understand

i would like to buy Cree leds on cutter electronics but i don't understand what CD Bin, DB Bin, BD Min 90 CRI (+5.12), CD BIN (-1.2 ) mean ??
Also there is the Kelvin thing (3000k, 3500k, 4000k etc) what this is supposed to mean? if i understand correctly it is about the color right ?how do i know which number represent which color ? what colors should i choose if i want to order Graumau5 grow kit (8 Cree Led and a 400w Driver)?

Last question and most important
is it possible to grow from seed to harvest in 1 month and half with 400w ? yield doesn't matter for my first time i just want to complete my fist grow before the 8 of July
which strain grow the fastest for that matter ?
should i put the plant directly on 12/12 after a week or 2 of veg ?

do you have some advices ?

thank you so much and i promise next time to do all the research and will never ask dumb questions again :dunce:

Not sure about the whole light thing but a plant will never grow in 6 weeks from seed if u want you might be able to come close with a auto seed some say 60days from seed but only a few but i think it will not happen by the 8th of july which is my b day and for leds i would just buy a good set the first time and be done they have these new lights look them up its getnextlights.com they look pretty good little pricey i like the one that replaces the t5 8 bulb looks bright as shit but ask around first well good luck bro

I can't answer your led questions as I do grow with led but do not build my own, I buy the lights ready to go. As far as finishing in 6 weeks, sorry to say there's no way...sorry. Even the faster autos will take you 8-10 weeks and with a photoperiod plant your gonna require at least and usually more than a couple months for your flowers to be ready for harvest and then you have to give yourself anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months of drying and curing before its ready to smoke.

bought some tasty leds $500 each. 200w (3)3590 cree cobs in each bar. i looked on youtube and other places and it would have cost me around $385 to build a similar panel plus the cost of tools for the job.

i basically paid a pro who knows what he is doing around $100 more per unit to - order all the parts, build unit, and give me 3 years warranty.
i couldnt say no.
shout out to rahz by the way, he is usually available if you want to ask him any questions here in RIU

Not to come off like a dick, but I'd learn some very basic fundementals of cannabis growing before running off to get led light bars and starting a first grow etc. I'd truly hate to see anyone get set up for failure. Your not going to grow any kind of cannabis in 6 weeks. The average photoperiod strain is 8 wks-just to flower. You still have to veg if from seed, and usually longer if you dont have feminized seeds. If you grow an auto, your still going to exceed your time line by a couple weeks at least, plus you have to factor in dry & cure times if you want a proper smoke.
To try to answer a couple of your questions you posted and to start you off on some of the basics, you are correct in the numbers(3000K 3500K 4000K etc) meaning color spectrum. The cooler or "blue" color spectrum will be in the 6500K which is great for vegative growing since plants respond to that color in veg. The lower the number (2500K) will be on the "red" spectrum and is great for flowering since plants respond to that color in flower. As for cob led lights, most people opt for the 3500K since it falls right in the middle or the "sweet spot" for both veg and flower all in one light. With HID lighting I would use a MH (blue spectrum) bulb for veg , then when I went into flower I would change over my bulb to a HPS (red spectrum) bulb.
As for BIN in cob led's it is a way for manufacturers to properly categorize their product. Each bin having its own attribute for that cob led including series/ color temp/lumens/voltage/mounting/ etc.

There is a plethora of useful info in here right at your fingertips, just try out the search function in the top right corner. There are some led gurus on here that hang out in the LED section that I'm sure would be happy to help you understand a bit better than I could.
I hope this was of some help to you!
