alright folks .. check out u tube they had some people do a grow off between led's and mh,hps and i think also cfl's , the led's suck , and when i say suck, i mean really f**ken suck. they grew beanpoles, scraggley hiv+ courtney love lookin pieces of shit ... MUST SEE LED'S AINT IT!!! search.. led grows.:peace:

I don't think its so much the lights, as it is the growers. Some of those lights were 3 or 4 feet about the tops of the plants. One was just a narrow bar of LEDs, three feet above the canopy... Any real grower notices this right away and can then surmise the rest of their gardening skillz... I'm surprised they got buds at all...

I can show pics of plants grow outdoors that look just as bad, but that doesn't mean the sun can't grow good weed. You have to look at the big picture before you generalize.

Here's my Micro LED grow video... and that 18 gal tote is a self contained DWC hydro setup. Only modifications is the rj11 jack in the front and a small hole in the lid for a fan...

your really stupid man. leds work just fine if you get a nice one like a ufo or lightblaze. so maybe you should research more before making your self look like a ass hat:roll:

LED's are good.......... compared to an incandescent. I would take CFL's over LED any day of the week.

LEDs have a long way to go. They could be doing so much more with them. Right now, they're trying to mimick HIDs. I think its mostly because its easier to put 5watt LEDs in a little group and say you have 90/100/whatever-watts, then it is to spread that out so you can get some proper coverage.

Once light manufactures, especially pot targeting ones, start making them right (and cheaper) HIDs and CFLs will be a thing of the past.

How many of those LEDs grows did anything but red/blue? I bet most of you didn't know you can flower under constant UV. ChlA loves it and Pf and Pfr have no reaction to it. In certain cases you can even flower under constant blue light as well and for the same reasons. And not with autoflowering strains (well, you could, but I'm talking about your standard 12/12 flowering strains)

LEDs are improving every year. HIDs, in 20 years, are going to be exactly the same as they are now.

i am going to have to say led lights overall blow. there are howerver good for veggy. i have done a few grows with led and i am not an idiot. the yields are less. for you to be able to have a above average harvest with led you would need to spend a SHITload on lights. but if you add some other types of lights to your led grow it does help. thats how i saved my first grow. i went four weeks with pure led lights and it didn really do shit. then i added a few cfl's and bam! the plants grew and budded like crazy. and damn guys easy its jus peoples opionions shit.

ive tryed led on 3 occasions all differing brands of led and 1 chinese one that was cheap, the chinese 1 broke after week...the others sucked and a 300 watt led was not as good as 300w cfl 9u giant at vegging,,,over a grand in cash later woke up smelt the roses went 300cfl veg 600w hps flower ..result at fraction of cost.... waste of time and money, not sure if those people that bleat about how good they are have vested intrest in selling or there just douchebags that are used to getting measly couple oz off a plant

LEDs are still a work in progress. The first airplanes flew 20 feet and that was considered an achievement. Now planes fly 18+ hours for over 10,000 miles. It's all about improvement. They need more time and research. That being said, if i was going to use LEDs, I would not rely on LEDs alone for a grow. So for now, I'll use my 600 watt mh & hps.
