Left in veg for too long, tips on pruning please

You can also just apply LST and achieve a better over all affect. Trimming your plant just rids the plant of the panels it uses to form and process it's energy. You'll find very little difference between a pruned and one that has not come harvest time. Not trying to cramp your grow style just putting in that the benefits of pruning pale in comparison to LST.
no absolutely. I'm actually wondering what that stuff you just listed was. Is it some kind spray?

LST = low stress training
I'll have to do some reading never herd of it I have lots of exp with house plants and garden veggies but this is a new deal. most plants are tolerate to a lot more things I'm pretty sure we need to quit calling it "weed". Lol .

Sounds good man yea no condensation is good as long as it's evaporating at lights on you're good.

As far as your tall plant goes I would tie her down some if you're afraid of her stretching. The plant will go where you tie it to given the stem is bendy enough. I tie mine down when they are young and bendy to get bush like plants.

This plant is tied down by 5-6 bits of plant training wire. Without LST she would be nearing a foot tall but thanks to LST she isn't even clearing four inches off the soil yet and she continues to bush out. Noticeably bigger every day.
I'm very reluctant to tie the plant down, its got a beautiful structure... Currently its' 9 inches from the light but its in the corner of the tent so its not DIRECTLY underneath the light and when i put my hand next to the top of the plant it actually feels like a very similar temperature to the rest of the tent.

The heat doesn't get intense till about 3-4 inches away from the light. Any idea how close i can let it get without it burning, i really don't want to tie it down lol. Fwiw i'm using Maxibright goldstar air cooled reflector with Sunmaster dual spec 600w HPS.

Cheers

You can still get light burn/bleaching without heat burn. I wouldn't want my plants that close to the light. Just get some of the garden wire and gently bend it or look up super-cropping and go that route. I've done both. The first time I supercropped, I was freaked out too, but it works great and is better than ruining the best bud at the top of the plant.

I still have the pictures from my first attempt.

Could the high humidity be coming from the air i'm pulling from my bedroom into the tent? I've ordered a bunch of disposable dehumidifiers. Going to stick a couple in my bedroom and a couple in the tent. Has anyone ever used these with success?

If you prefer beautiful structure over light distribution to your plants just keep growing as you are, the light really doesn't need to be super close. I keep mine maybe a foot and a half away during the whole grow and they are more than fine and that is with a single 250W HPS in an open hood.

Well the light won't go any higher so i'm going to have to tie it down. The main stem is about 1cm thick, is there any links so i can see exactly how this is done? Or if you wouldn't mind explaining.. Never had to do this before :spew:

No you're right i definitely don't want to sacrifice yield for 'looks' lol i'm just slightly worried about snapping the stem.. Going to get some garden wire tomorrow. I'm just not sure exactly how to tie it down.. Any ideas? bongsmilie

If you look up supercropping, I'm sure you can find a video. You grasp the the stem at the point you want to bend it between your thumb, forefinger, and middle finger and gently roll it back and forth. You'll feel the fibers snap a bit but you don't want to snap the stem. The second time I super-cropped, I snapped the stem off because it was much softer than the one I did the first time, lol. Then lay the stem over in a direction that has a void of bud. I like to use garden wire to keep it tied down. The tip will bend back up towards the light in just a day or two. So when you decide how far down the stem to bend, keep in mind that the tip will point back up so you won't gain that full amount of distance from the light.

Been looking at some videos on super cropping but all the videos etc that i can find are on much smaller plants. The bit that's confusing me is the 'tieing down' part.. After i pinch and bend the main stem do i then tie it down to stop it popping back up? Sorry for my incoherence

You don't have to, but I do because it makes the plant stay lower. What I do is wrap a 3-4 inch piece of garden wire around the stem at a 45 deg angle to keep the lower part of the stem above the bend point at a 90 deg angle. I didn't have to actually roll this stem because it's pretty thin, but you can see how I've tied it down. You can do the same thing when you supercrop.

I've just done it but i'm a bit worried because it was quite a loud snap when the branch folded over and the seal on the stalk is broken if that makes sense, theres now a hole in the stem where i broke it, i've attached a photo to show what i mean. Is there anything i should do like put duct tape over the hole in the stem? :-(

Hey guys, just looking for some confirmation that my plants going to be okay. I accidentally snapped the main stem when supercropping it, not severely but i'm worried when it starts to produce buds it will break under the weight?
