Legal advice...please help

If they are already in custody sounds like the wheels of justice are already turning. This is what you are looking at:
-You are going to have to go to court but not necessarily to testify. If you don't go to court then the State won't have a witness to prove their case and it will get dismissed.
-Each jackass that jumped you will make a first appearance and will either represent themselves, get a court appointed attorney, or will get their own attorney. At this appearance they'll set each individual court date.
- If you are at the first appearances (which I doubt you will be) you should request the DA to have all of the case tried on the same day.
- Be prepared to have the first actual court date for each defendant continued. It isunfortunately how thing roll. Again- ask the DA to have each defendants court date put on the same day so that your life is not dominated by trying to go to court to prosecute these jackasses.
- Once all the procedural BS is done they will most likely try to plea out. This is typically how things work with judicial efficiency being the goal. If not- you'll go to trial and will testify. This will probably cause the court date to get continued one more time.
That was just the criminal side.
Now- the civil side.
Typically jackasses who do shit like this don't have any money....but with you- there are at least 10 scumbags to go after. You need to find out if they have any assets to attack (income/savings/houses/cars/insurance) and if they do go after their asses with a high powered attorney. If some of the dudes that jumped were have moolah and your case is pretty straight forward you'll be able to find an attorney to handle it on a contingency basis (typically around 30% plus expenses). If you lose you don't have to pay jack. Good luck to you brother! Sucks that you took a bat to the face.

Sorry i havent posted anything, ive been trying to keep food down becuase im quite dizzy from the blows....
I looked into the charges that will be followed and it seems that almost every charge i can charge them with in maryland is a felony. Including attempted murder/homicide. Which i will be fileing tommrow due to today is easter.
Thanks to everyone who was serious for there advice, i appreciate it.
My friend who was jumped has a grandfather who is a millionaire so we have the lawyer thing pretty much tied up. Apparently this high priced lawyer is taking it probono due to this being his close grandson.
If i could see out of my left eye i may have the balls to go hunt these fuckers down, but unfortunately im too fucked up to even move right now. Im seeing a plastic surgeon on friday for my teeth and the fractures in my face. I really cant wait to get my shit fixed, I cant even eat solid food right now.
...I just cant wait to get these bastards. ...oh and ps some of the 10 have money, but i think its there parents who have the money. I believe most of them were 20-22.
Also to those who want to see pics... I would but i really dont want to show my face on here due to the grows ive done and also the damage doesnt look horrifing like everyone thinks. cchamp has the best advice +rep to him. only thing i have to add is if these guys are jumping people they probably dont have assets to go after. i think the best youll get is paid medical expenses and to see their asses hauled off to jail

just got the word on these kids...
Thyey have some already arrested and one has 4 counts (of what idk) against him. He and his family are loaded. also these kids werent gangsters but just dumb ass white kids. most have money is the word. ...and now its gonna be mine.

Well its good to know they got money.You should be able to come up big off this.Id definitely be more focused on getting money because I bet the "ring leader" will only end up doing 3 years,unless they take it to trial and the attempt sticks.You'll get to watch all these kids bitch up and snitch on the master mind behind it all to,They really just fucked there lives up.Your's might seem fucked right now but they have to deal with this forever now.Good luck when you go to court and shit.And if they really got money like that I bet there having a good time in jail.They'll definitely be paying taxes.
