Some Californians are in Denver this weekend to watch the San Diego Chargers play the Broncos in the NFL playoffs, and while there they could take advantage of Colorados new law that allows marijuana to be consumed for recreational use.
These tourists would not be able to bring any marijuana home, but as long as a host of laws are adhered to including someone with a Colorado ID making the purchase at a licensed store there would be no problem with someone who wants to enjoy their drug of choice.
The problems could start Monday, or a week, or a month later, after this person returns to work. Employers in California test for drugs regularly and often fire people whose tests turn up positive for cannabis. Most of these tests are conducted as part of the screening process, and it is very common for a qualified job applicant to be denied a job for failing a test.
