Legality of My Drs. Reccomendation

Hi all. I was just thinking; I have a current Dr. rec for medical cannabis use for a medical condition. From my understanding, the state issued card, which is another 150.00, is not mandatory, but rather voluntary. From all I can gather the actual Drs. rec is the legal document needed. So if I am growing two or three plants for my medicine, the cops show up at my door, all I have is my Drs. rec. Lets say they are total jerks, pull my plants,etc. Havent they just denied me access to procuring my meds?? How would that be any different than say them coming into my place, confiscating my sons,
who suffers from siezure disorder, meds??? I can see no difference really. Am I wrong??

what State are you in?

i was told by 3 different people that if you go to your local county health dpt that you get a different letter head for growing which makes it legal? i have been confused about this myself i know to go into a club all you need is the doc's rec and to gain the card and it is voluntary. but the cost of the card outside of the doctors rec was no place near 150$ more like 40$ unless you are talking total cost of rec and ID card. but then again i am trying to understand your post.
this is all assuming you live in cali because you posted in the cali section. i know in other states the doctors rec means nothing with out the ID card. so really i would read up on all the laws and rules for the state you are in. NEVER rely on what others say... because knowing the law is better then just assuming what someone told you is correct.

and if you have a proper recommendation then why dont you go with it? without a card you are breaking both state and federal laws.

You dont need a state card but they are good to have. A doctors recommendation is all you need. No one is going to pull your 2 or 3 plants. I have personally spoken to cops in LA that told me they had an MMJ day where they all sat and listened to how the laws are now. They cant do anything that would get the department in trouble. If they pull your personal stash and you had a rec there then you can sue. Some guy in Seal Beach got $1,100 a plant, something like $32,000 for 30 plants
