Doesn't mean it doesn't exist, just because you haven't seen it. I've seen pictures of Mephisto grows that look amazing at like day 60 from seed.

Most people want a percentage of Amber, and I don't. It's my weed, that's actually the lowest bud on the plant and I like what I like. All good. I'm answering o.p.'s question and not debating ripeness.
That's the problem... How can a discussion occur about the existence of a "legit 8 week strain" if everybody is using their own, relatively arbitrary, definitions of ripeness? I think it's the main reason that this discussion never has a satisfactory resolution. That, and the fact that a lot of people are super impatient.
For the same reason the music played in your house is different than the music played in my house; personal preference. I prefer my weed to be ripe and not well-done like most of you.. and, if there's a thread about "Tell me about a sub-8 week strain you've had" and your reply is "I ain't had or seen one", then you're not adding to said discussion. Just sayin.
it's adding something if I've been growing since 1992 and haven't seen one. hundreds of stains, thousands of phenotypes, S1s through F6, and I've never seen one. how is that less relevant and contributory than your opinion about plant maturity?
my chitral x Skunk cross is usually a 9 to 10 week. I really wish I could get a more Pakistani leaning pheno out of it.
