Lemon Wreck......

so now your on our level, lets crack on.......

Last round we found what i was looking for and finally Found after two years of hunting...Not just a Lemon leaning pheno but as close to the Legend that is Las vagas Lemon skunk, as i could get as you can see i think were there...

so now that i've found what i have spent years Looking for, I was at a standstill as to were my farming path was going to go.....as i smoked down on my very tasty LS the sat high took control and i had an epiphany!!....it occurred to me that i have spent my whole time growing other peoples strains, buying there seeds and finding there phenos, only to be rewarded with the same experience that they have already described, now don't me wrong its been emotional along the way....and i have enjoyed it however.....

i want my own phenos, my own creatation, instead of spending two years getting to know someone elses i want to spend it perfecting my own.......

the light has come on......DING!.....

so i thought i would share with you guys a little breeding project that will encompass All of my 5 years of lemon knowledge into dare i say the perfect indoor lemon strain........

so creating the perfect Lemon strain is by no means an easy feet, the first place i started with was a name, i had decided on Lemon Wreck, because originally i was going to cross my cut with a purple lemon trainwreck, cannaventure beat me too it, by producing the actual LVLS cut x the artica Trainwreck clone only.......it was easy to see that in order to compete with these clone only strains i needed to up my game......

folowing along the lines of GHS + DNA with SLH i too was looking to add a higher yeiled to the LS, i therefore considered x with Green crack and blue dream, then all i could think about how good green crack x blue dream would be and why it aint been done.....Green DREAM......

then the light bulb smashed........

Lemon x Lemon....was the answer.......the next question was the hardest as it was a mix of two things firstly.....would i use a Lemon pheno from a strain thats not sought after for being lemony.....e.g Lemon train wreck phenos, Lemon jack harrer phenos, Lemon skunk phenos etc.....or would i try to incorporate another breeders strain thats geared towards the lemon flavour...e,g jack the ripper, lemon skunk, lemon thai, lemon god bud etc.......

i decided that it would be better and a more reliable outcome if both the strains i were crossing had the lemon smell and taste that i wanted as a dominant gene....

the next step was the flavour, did i want lemon candy, like Lemon skunk....did i want the very popular diesel fuel type lemon, like lemon diesel or did i want the kush type lemon taste....

this wasnt to hard for me, the best an original lemon candy smell and flavour is what im after.....its a winner every time......

so with that done i then made a list off all the good points about my cut vs what i think needs perfecting, cause shes good, i mean very good.....

i decided that because this pheno produces incredible smoke, but airy buds this is the first thing that needed adressing, i love sativas dont get me wrong, its just airy bud i hate.....so i needed a compact strain known for dense buds.....

next even though this pheno stays compact and has a 3x stretch i would like to reduce this a little for the indoor grower, i want this strain to produce buds, buds, buds not stem stem stem....so i need a short strain......

very sativa high, very deep stone, and very psychedelic a very proper sat high....i have never done so much while smoking lol.....however i feel if it had a nice indica kick at the end to properly make sure your eyes turn red and give you that last release before bed would be better.....

so i need a lemon candy tasting, short indica thats known for its dense rock hard love nugs........

this is were it all came to a stand still i knew what i wanted but no breeder was offering it........but wait.....

as i was looking deep into my seed collection, i had found that i had my little diamond all along........

she is very very short with a x1 stretch

she is known for producing huge yeilds of rock hard dense nugs

shes sometimes lemon tasting and smelling

and is about as indica as it gets......

her only problem shes 50/50 on the lemon trait half are lemon candy half are fuely.......

she is a strain made by a uk grower called marijuanamatt, i was around at the time of all his hype however stumbled and didnt get the f1's only falling for this one when i saw a mate cross her with a black domina to create BLACK Lemon...but i did peak and get the f2's lol.....a tad more variation but not much......so heres a quick look at the lineage and i think youll see why i choose this girl...........

Although mostly indica, she retains a complex high that warps both body and soul. This strain does not respond well to topping. It's cannabis seeds produce a mild, sweet smell that develops while flowering. Delicious Critical Sensi Star has a sweet lemon taste.
You have a more rare strain to use though so good luck!

just throwing a quick update out there....

the lemon stinky seeds are between 3-5years old and so far out of 20 regs things are not looking good....i also germed other seeds at the same time (as i always do) only for the reason of making sure conditions are perfect......i will update if any pop up over the next week...we have cracked shells so maybe 2-3.....

i have never hoped for a male so bad lol

ok little update.....i was wondering why none off these seeds were germinating yes they are old but.....i thought i would turn to google for advice and i happen to stumble upon a guide to germing old seeds.......it basically reads

for seeds 3+ years that have been stored properly ie in fridge that have not germed after 3 weeks....

remove seed and if seed is still hard, take a knife and run it along the ridge of the seed....place in matchbox with sand paper, shake for 30secs and place in medium / paper tpwels to germ,,,,,,,

so i thought i would try on 1 seed.....just so happend that it was the biggest seed out of the 20.....it had cracked slightly, i noticed what seemed like a plumbers seal runniing around the edge of the seed, it was also white.....

so very gently using gloves and a sterile razor blade i began to ever so gently "scrape" this white edge off.....next thing i see is what appears to be the caylax "pod" still around the seed.....this basically came right off and a the seed split open......

crazy x aka maruanja matt, is a "home" breeder even though his seeds made the shops, they are not as well manicured as say DNAs seeds for obv reasons....

so in light ff this i dug up all the seeds, and th same thing happened now ALL seeds have cracked open and been placed in paper towels.....

one side of the casing fell from a particuarly large seed to reveal a perfect seedling inside.....so in terms of viability due to storage i dont think that the problem....

lemon king i have somthing going that sounds cool also a gift from a fellow riu lemon heads slh green house seeds x kaboom tga 2 look like shabby sativas 1 nice hybrid these are my last seeds .I think it my turn to make some seeds with these plants love to see your great cross grow

I Will be growing Lemon Skunk AGAIN for the 3rd year in a row and tried the Super Lemon Haze for my 2013 grow mmmmm was really amazing so this year am also going for Strain Hunters "White Lemon" (el niño x super lemon haze) the Leaves on the white lemon look Enormous! Can't wait to start germing! Patience is Impossible!!!!!!!!!!!!!
