During the dark period the plant will use stored starches in the leaves for energy during darkness.These starches are responsible for harshness in the finished product.Its not " nutes" though lol.

Perhaps I will give this a try! Take a plant in the morning just before lights on, take another just before lights out and see. An interesting and easy test!
