I switched to a 5 gal bucket. A little advice from what I just learned the difficult way. Get yourself a really good air pump, I have one of thesenice thread gonna be doing a 400w 4x2x7 in the same kind of setup you have (dwc in Rubbermaid tote) interested to see what you get out of yours
and FYI if your using a rectangular tote your plant will grow "rectangular"... This actually seemed to help me as it made everything fit a bit more comfortably.... It also makes training to edge of the tub easier too.... Also I will swear by "flooming" now.... YOU DO NOT NEED AN AIR PUMP.... You can use a small water pump to agitate the surface and add enough DO without an air pump...I switched to a 5 gal bucket. A little advice from what I just learned the difficult way. This pump works great for a 5 gal bucket but did not supply enough air for the tote any my plant became "overwatered" or O2 deprived. unless your going to be growing this plant huge a 30 gal tote may not be necessary. I found rez changes to be more difficult as well so depending on how long you plan to veg you may want to consider just using a 5 gal bucket. If you plan on training and vegging for over 8 weeks then the tote may be a good idea.
yeah I have a couple 250 gph pumps I was thinking about setting one up with a J on it to pump and dump back in tote. 5 gal bucket just ended up being easier.and FYI if your using a rectangular tote your plant will grow "rectangular"... Personally id recommend keeping to 1 per reservoir.... just in case theres root rot or any other issues... also you will be surprised at how fast shit grows, one will take over the tote in about a month....yea running the same pump with a water pump as well going to a water chiller albiet a ghetto water chiller lol the tote is a 23gal gonna try to run two plants this will be my first stab at dwc and my second grow period did alright in soil battled with controlling the temp in my closet hoping that having a grow tent and better ventilation will solve that
hmmm maybe a couple smaller totes like 15gal. How long would my nute kit last tho I have the advanced nutrients three part dealPersonally id recommend keeping to 1 per reservoir.... just in case theres root rot or any other issues... also you will be surprised at how fast shit grows, one will take over the tote in about a month....
I'm using 10 gallon totes.. if you have at least a quart of nutrients it should last at least until harvest....hmmm maybe a couple smaller totes like 15gal. How long would my nute kit last tho I have the advanced nutrients three part deal
