I remember coming out of my first trip at home and speaking to my mom a few days later.
"Hey mom I`m really starting to think that it all matters, things people do. Like sit around on a table and say grace and love each other.... its for the better mom, all this digital life..." (I`m not christian or anything btw never was)
She was like right on I see that stuff did what it does with a big smile....
Did what it does? What does it do?

Good to see you guys understand. This thread has cheered me up. It's very comforting to see people realize that everything matters and the only thing in this life that cannot be overcome is total, unconditional love. It lets everyone and everything in.

I saw Pema Chodron not too long ago, and she said (paraphrased, of course): "picture someonone you couldn't fathom what would happen to you if something happened to them, like your mother perhaps. Now picture someone you saw today in an elevator, at the grocery store; now wish them the love you did for your own mother. That is equanimity."
