Lets Make A Lil Cab

I have this plastic storage cab that im gonna make a grow cab out of ,

The space i will have to grow with is

31 " height -- 29" height-- 14'' deep ,

I dont like that it is only 14 deep , but well make it work

Lights -- 150w hps

So far i have cut out 2 holes for my exhaust fans , i have this reflective insulation shit that i will be using in place of mylar ,

My hps has a remote ballast which is no good for me in this cab , so i had to modify it ,

It did have just 1 long cord going from the ballast to the reflective hood which makes it hard for me to have the hps in without having the ballast in their with it , ( which i dont want )

So i cut the cord below the hood and put male and female plugs on it so it will be easier for me to work with ,

I Still have to get everything right and will update pics as the cab comes along ,

Any input and ideas are welcome

Use white sheeting or diamond sheeting for the inside. Try and cool the bulb the killer is going to be keeping the temps down and the bulb low. I have a cab just like yours, I used to use 3 x 250 watt cfls but now I just use one.

PC fans are the bomb for air circulation and intake outtake you can wire them up to 12 volt DC chargers (literally almost any charger)

To keep the heat down you are gonna have to pull a lot of air through and you may need to add bowls of water to keep the humidity up.

LST like crazy. Grow your plants in small containers so you can repot and rebury the plant almost up to the top node to save hight

Find pots that maximise your space (wide rather than tall).

Gimme a shout if you need a hand with anything ^_^

Yea iv grown in little cabs before my man ,

I use the 90cfm AC fans , i have 3 of those and two 55cfm fans ,

I will be using 2 of my 90 cfm ac fans for exhaust , but i haven't decided how im gonna work my intake

Normally i like to have 2 fans for exhaust up top and 1 intake on bottom , but idk how im gonna work my intake since the center of the back in made the way it is ,

I might run it from the side but im not really wanting to do that though , idk though

Well my light is off center but fuck it lol

My damn cat is always be nosy and messing around my shit lol

can u not reposition it to the side and use intake one side exhaust on the other..

Yea i could but i dont want my exhaust and intake beside each other like that , it will sort of defeat its purpose ,

I have 2 , 55cfm fans i could use , and like have them at the bottom positioned under the exhaust but only at the bottom , but those 55cfm fans are old and probably dont push that any more ,

I still have another 90 cfm , idk i might just use the 2 55 ones , as long as im exhausted more air then is whats coming in ,

Or i might not put an intake in it , i might put a 6" clip on fan in their to blow towards the light and the heat will still exhaust out the top

Doubled sided tape emergency blankets for the sides leave the top alone and make a intake on the bottom like between the two above keep the two at the top so your sucking plenty of the hot air out and any part that is 100% sealed will leak air in along with the bottom intake and blow air on the bulb and your set man. I only have one intake and exhaust but i have two 120mm 110 CFM blowing from the front of the light towards the back of the box to keep the bulb cool and the exhaust sucks the heat out. Last night it was say around 60 outside about 65 in my room and 70-75 in my box i had my HPS 3 inches from the top of the plant i'll post pics up of how much she grew but holy shit man im running out of room fast Time for some LST work

Look at the pic in post 5 my mine , i cant put an intake in the center or i would ,

I just might put the intake in the bottom corner , yea i think that is what ill do ,

I have those reflective rolls that im gonna use instead of mylar my man , the mylar emergency blankets is what i normally use but im gonna try these rolls out

If you put it in the corner then you wont get good air flow once you have a beast in there it will only go up one side of the box in the middle it will go into the blant pushing the heat out of the canopy and upandout. i have mine in the side and dont get to good of movement if i had money and the tools i would run two intake one on both sides. one side is always going to be more stale and hotter air if you only run one on the side buddy. Just install the two exhaust and do a test run to see what we are working with ya know. Then i'll help you figure it out if it still runs to hot.

Yea im gonna put the 2 55 cfm for intake

and im in the process of mounting my other ac fan to my light

Where are you mounting said fans?

You might want to do run tests while building it just so you dont cut anything that dont have to be cut out yea know

OK ,

The 2 top fans are my exhaust , their both 90 cfm ,

The 2 bottom fans are my intake , their both 55 cfm ,

I drilled a hole at the end of my hood and bolted my other 90 cfm fan on it ,

All i got left to do is put my diamond sheets in and make a hole for the hps cord ,

Lets see how it ends up turning out
