Let's talk about guns. . . . . .

It doesn't matter what look like. All semi automatic rifles that can shoot more than 10 rounds will be in the same category as AR15's. They're no different functionally.
I don't have any semiautomatic rifles

My Weatherby MKXXII held 12 rounds in it's tubular magazine, but I sold it just a couple of months ago, sitting on a bench outside a gunshow in Eugene with the rifle displayed in an open case

Pelosi announces lawmakers will be fined $5,000 if they bypass metal detectors to House floor
It's been a rule for a good while that guns were not allowed on the floor. I'm betting a few have been breaking that rule up til now.

Other than one mini 14, one SKS and a few .22's, I don't have any either. Most of my good guns are bolt action. But I do like single shots, over and unders, traditional double barrels and pumps too.

The Mini 14 and SKS definitely are in the same category as AR's. Even the .22 if it holds more than 10 rounds is basically the same thing. Just because a .22 caliber is less lethal, doesn't change the fact that it functions the same.

We had a sweeping gun ban recently here in Canada, and it was based on cosmetic-only factors. For example, they banned my CZ Scorpion (still waiting for the buyback program). I'm not sure what rifle I'll use for for 3-Gun now. Luckily my handguns are safe for now.

Well fuck. I guess I need to buy a wooden stock and handle for mine, lol.

They don't want pistols to hold more than 10 rounds either, so don't think that gun's safe from their addenda.
They don't need to ban guns that hold more than 10 rounds, just the magazines that hold more than 10. The handguns in Canada are identical to those in the USA, but the mags are pinned to 10 and it's illegal to modify them to hold more rounds.

Yes, semiautomatics are semiautomatics. The whole point of this thread is to say guns are stupid simple and haven't changed much in the last 100 years. It's people's feelings about guns that has changed.

What really bothers me is how they've twisted the actual meaning of Assault Rifle. So what now if it looks scary it's different than if it was prettier, lol.
