Let's talk Cannabis freedom over Cannabis profits

Poll: Is the Green of cannabis profits more important than the Green of Cannabis Freedom?

Cannabis Freedom or Cannabis Profits you choose.

In California we have voted three time in recent history on initiatives relating to decriminalizing cannabis. Twice California has voted down initiatives containing Commerce ( business ) language. Twice!
Also California has voted for decriminalizing Cannabis once. We legalized cannabis for medical use. That initiative was one that granted cannabis freedom to the people for private non-commercial use of cannabis as medicine.

If you could choose today between Cannabis freedom for the people and then we wait on commerce and another Cannabis commerce initiative how would you vote?

Would you gamble with a third initiative that asks California to vote for Commerce ( business ) again or would you vote for an initiative that grants Cannabis freedom to the people ( all people not just medical ) since California has a history of voting yes for people and no to business.


So please consider which you support for 2012. Thank you

Think of it this way. I care what happens for us in California. I care about my fellow Cannabis citizen and I care about the non-cannabis citizen.

I'm not in Cali but if weed were truly legal and we were truly free - than shouldn't I be allowed to open a weed business?

Why shouldn't some guy who happens to own a big plot of land and happens to have enough money to invest into a business not be allowed to do so? It seems to me that if Californians wanted to be truly free than they would've already voted for the bill that was up for last year. Unless I'm missing something?

You are going to have people vote down decriminalization as long as THEY can grow legally and "DONATE" it for a profit to a dispensary.... Take that away, and you'll gain your decriminalization voters...

If anyone was allowed to grow by law, the price would drop and they don't want that....

Once there was legal protection, it could take just 1 person to start forcing prices down. t present though, anyone tries to force prices down they'll probably just find lots of guns aimed their way The concept of actually having to work for your dollars, laughable, not in the cannabis culture there won't be!

In California there are already Cannabis Businesses what we don't have if freedom for the people.
That means that we have kept freedom from the people twice because of business language in the initiatives.
Voting for the people means we wait on language for business for all the people until after the people have freedom.

We sacrifice business to get legalization and then we work on business.
It's a do one before the other because business fails each time to pass.

Is it true that we saw a surge in supply with the run up and into 2011 because of prop 19? Yep the price of weed is down.
I'm betting we have to see a correction is prices. So let the market adjust. get it over with by legalizing for the people first. Wall street calls this Market Adjustment.

Look at it this way once the people are legal and there are already California businesses selling weed, how long will it be before California adopts fair cannabis business practices?
Why would they have a reason to stop pot shops after it is legal for the people?

Those wanting to build a family business will have more chances if it's legal for the people first than they will if it fails in 2012.

Indeed, the business minded folk, i say that with irony dripping from my lips, appear to refuse to vote anything in unless it means that the following day they'll still be making the same quota per pound. They turn arou/nd and say there are too many loopholes and issues etc, well of course there are, the bill is being written with commercial regulation in mind, not peoples rights.

It may fail again simply because that business first is the proverbial cart before the horse. Meaning to arrive at a place with a wagon and horse (commerce = wagon , horse = people ) it works best if the horse pulls the cart.
It doesn't work if we expect the cart to be pushed by the horse so the cart gets to the finish line first ahead of the horse.

That is how my grandfather explained it to me.
Seems to be true with the voting history on Cannabis commerce in California.
I am only point out facts friends.. I am for your freedom. I see you all as people not customers.

I see what you're saying but I dont think lawmakers have much of an incentive to do it like this as they'd be missing out on tax revenue created via commerce...

In this case the law makers are the people because of Initiative process.
Do you understand? Those who want the laws to favor a business model must manufacture consent with the voters to get what they want.
The best way for some is to by pass our legislative process and so they offer a carrot for us to follow when we could be free.

So far it looks like business would rather shoot the horse than set us free.

This is the first result I know about. Do you have any news on other repeal efforts?

For many years I was convinced that Corporations could take over marijuana and that it was worth a lot of money to them. I was convinced that not many more people would grow if it was legalized with good reason. But the truth is, under legality, if everyone is allowed to grow for themselves no questions asked then Cannabis losses its power in capitalism. The thing is, its not that hard to grow Marijuana and people will infact do so if it openly legal, it will be the thing to do and every block will have several growers.

Thus, Capitalism will lose its Cannabis. Cannabis is free it grows easily from its own seed, and if it was legal then they could not make money off this plant. In addition many interest will lose money if it becomes legal - essentially there will be more loss then gain monetarily for business and also a loss in revenue for many people.

They will never take cannabis from the People, Its impossible, that is partly why it stays illegal, its worth a lot more money to corporations and people if it stays illegal, making it legal would crush many parties. The only way we can make it happen is to make them see dollar signs, let them have their dollar sign fantasies because in the end we will be the winners as they make not a dime off the most sacred plant on earth which everyone will be permitted to covet, so long as we are able to grow without huge restrictions we will have won, let them have their fantasy tax money delusions, make them think they are gunna get 50$ an ounce or whatever - their revenue will be nearly non-existent, and we will laugh all the way to freedom. If we don't make them have these revenue delusions then they will not make it legal - money is what changes things in this nation 90% of the time.

Only then can we have our cake and eat it to, but only if we pretend as if we are not going to eat the cake ya dig

That is simply excellent reading deprave.

However, another wise sage who owns a pet store where I worked briefly spoke these wise words of capitalistic wisdom; The money isn't in a one time sale of a pet it is in the pet supplies people buy again and again.

Perhaps cannabis will fall in price. Certainly we all agree schwag weed should be worthless but fine cannabis I believe will always have a market. Hash is something that isn't easy to make and that will always be something I would buy especially different kinds of hash. Then there are seeds and growing supplies plus clones. Sure there will always be weed to buy at the coffee shop maybe? But the real money is always in the supplies not the actual produce. That it is illegal is why the price is high and there are prisons that await us all.

So I believe the cannabis marketplace will find it's true freedom after the people are free all over the state.

More than this do we want to gamble in 2012? I mean if we cannot legalize for the people can we legalize for business? Can we get the cart to town without the horse?
