Lets talk reflectors

Ill be the first to say i dumped my money in many other places while establishing my grow. New ballasts, bulbs, filters, blah blah $ $ $

Anyways....

I look at this piece of shit $20 reflectors and immedietly im bothered. Im not utilizing the bulbs, i see half of my light being wasted.

But befote i go out and buy a dozen new reflectors inwanna hear it from you.

I never thought those big xl hoods were any better. And vented lights, nah... im an open wing dude. They may not be the prettiest but the parobolic seems to be the winner but ive never tried. I am however trying vertical lights with no reflector. If those do well. Ill either stay the course or go with parabolic. Meaning round reflectors and vertical bulbs.

But some of you already have the anwser to my questions. Which is most efficent?

No reflector (vertical bulbs)
Parabolic (round)
Xl hools (big square white)
Open wings (cheap polished alum)

Like i said, id like some input before i go buy 12-16 of em. Wdyg think?

Been running two of the XL Adjust-A-Wings for years and have had excellent luck. Recently just got two of the Magnum XXXL hoods and giving them a try because the new room is more sealed then my old one was and heat will be a issue. If your not in a small sealed room or tent I'd recommend the Adjust-A-Wings. They are relatively inexpensive and have around a 5x5 footprint.

I was using an open hood setup with my 250w mh and another 600w hps... the Mh in a 2.5×4x6FT closet and Hps in my 5x5x7 tent... no ac in the room but a 2x 6inch inline fans for incoming air and for outgoing air... 2x oscillating fans and a cool air humidifier...
Closet temp went from about 90 running ONLY 250W to the bulb... to about 70-80 with the tube and so i switched the MH over to 600W and still only about 80 for a peak! And the tent went from about 95 steady to 80ish and so i slapped that one upto 1000W for a steady 85-90 again lol

Just the tube style with wing... 10+ degree drop for me with the higher watts pumping... even more the way it was with weaker lights...
