i was wondering if anyone has ever let there plants dry out in the pots rather than just cutting and hanging.. a experienced grower that iknow said that he has recently started letting plants go for about two weeks without watering and i think he said he leaves them under the regular light regime as well... but hes said that everything comes out perfect the smell and taste are unbeatable and its ready to smoke right then and there without extra drying or curing..

So, basically... I wouldn't do this. For many reasons, mainly being the plant is still connected to its roots and you're essentially letting the plant die very very slowly, which will degrade your THC into CBD. Smell and taste will be there no doubt, but I guarantee if your friend harvests the main cola on time, and does his other routine, the THC % will be much higher on the correctly harvested bud. There's a reason there's a "peak" window of harvest of 5 - 7 days where THC sits at 97%(give or take a few %) of its maximum potency before degrading into other cannabinoids.

The "peak" window is basic knowledge of all horticulture and it applies to EVERYTHING. Tomatoes, cilantro, apples, pears, ect. ect. you name it.
