letting the ladies dry out before harvest, do anything?

i read a while back that not watering the soil 3 or 4 days before harvest allows the plant to dry out a lil bit making for less drying time after harvest. also i remember it saying somthing about the plant ridding its self of nutrients during this time. idk if im right or wrong but lemme know what yall think

I can't see how that makes any sense. The buds are going to dry out alot faster if they aren't attached to the plant. If the plant is not dead, how are the buds going to be dryer than if you chop them, get them on a rack and get some air moving around them?

He means if they will be ready for harvest in say 5 days, that you stop watering the pots the last 3 or 4 days
Schotzky I hear that one should harvest the same day the plants would need to be watered again, so if you water every 3 days, harvest the morning of the 3rd day (because letting them get too dry can cause problems, not sure what, that is just what people say)

I actually like my drying time longer. That way the humidity of the bud is more even and curing gets easier.

Letting the medium dry out makes the salts that left in there more concentred so the plant is getting little water to grow with and a lot of salts. Usually people look out for less salts in the medium when harvesting (AKA flushing).

I read ideas about both ways and I'm going with watering all the way this harvest.
On my previous harvests I let the medium dry out for 2 days or so it will be easier to throw it out to the garbage.

i like to let the soil dry and the plant dry completely in the pot it was growing in then harvest and go strait to jars very slow dry 30 days some times it takes longer ,

i forgot to answer the 10 year old question what does it do to dry it out before harvest i always have noticed a much better smell and taste if the plant is completely dry before harvest

I’m trying this now also. For the first time. Mainly cuz I’ve been lazily harvesting my other plants and didn’t get around to harvesting my last two. Forgot to check on them and they’re drying out right on the plant. Gonna give another couple days and chop I think. The smell is fantastic.
