Hey everyone, ive been searching the forms and have read that you can start flowering a plant when it is just 3 inches tall!!?? is this true? if so will the buds be less dank? will you yeild considerably less bud then if you grew it to a foot then flowered? also i was wondering if 2x 42 watt CFL 1x 26 watt and 2 75 watt CFL's are enough light to grow 3 plants? also is there a way to increase the chances of your plants turning female? any help would be awesome!! thanks everyone

Just use a little common sense. What plant do you think is going to yield more a plant that is flowered at three inches tall or a plant that is flowered at a foot tall?

You've got enough light, but the only way to make sure you've got females is to take clones from a female plant. Check out the growfaq for cloning tips.

thanks for the help man :) only prob is is my grow space is only 1 1/2 feet tall :S :S thats y i need to start flowering when they are smaller, idc if it yeilds less really, all i care about it potentcy

Why not do a SCROG for the level of grow space? Look it up on here, you could produce 1 plant with as much bud if not more than those 3 plants with that method. And like Grizz said, cloning is the only way to get a SURE female.

And still with 1.5 ft of height, you are in a bad kinda deal. How wide is the area? You could turn them sideways after they've grown a bit then start a SCROG easier.

im not the informed on SCROG and im to high to understand the faq hahaha but i was planning on doing the LST method with 4 plants (the container may only be 1 1/2 feet tall but its 5 feet wide. if SCROG would be better i guess i could give it a try but wouldnt LST work too?

wait...so i can grow the plants out tall then just simply lay the pot sideways and start flowering and it will just grow to the top again?

What is optimum height for plant to be when switching to flowering for decent to exceptional yield. Height restrictions don't apply to my situation btw.

Thanks for starting this thread as I have been wondering about this too.

yes, the plant can sense gravity, if you pay it sideways all the shots/top will grow upwards as if its been lsted. But when you do this you gotta figure out how you'll be watering it or transplant it into something else so make watering easier.

Gonna be hard to get an exceptional yield in a tight area like that. But I suppose that all depends on what you call exceptional.

thanks for the help everyone :) :) once again tho i am not looking for tons of yeild, im mainly conserned about potentcy. as long as a get around a half o a plant id be MORE than happy.

:joint:i hope your high as hell waffle man cuz a plant CANNOT sense gravity. at all. what makes a plant change direction is light the plant will go any where light is it will reach for it and even if a plnt could sense gravity why do you think it would go against it dont ya think it would go prostrate and grow along the ground? think about it look it up but please dont comment things in the forum unless your sure its right cuz this thread was obviously written by a newbie. :blsmoke:

actually if you put a seed underground, theres no light for it to sense and grow towards the light, so how do you suppose the seed know where to go? The plant do grow towards the light because thats what they need for survival, but comeon if you put a light beneath your plant right at the base is the plant going to grow downward? < LOL GJ making yourself look like a dumbass.
