Light controller electrical question

Can I wire in a 30 amp dryer plug cord to a 8 light controller rated for 50 amps if I only run 6 lights at 2.5 amps each so 15 amps total at 240v? or would there be a problem? it would be on a 30 amp breaker

Your not exceeding any limitations, a 50 amp controller can be run on a 30 amp breaker with up to 24 amps load.
