Light cycle please help

im on my first grow, and my seedling is abut two inches high, iv'e had lights on 24 hrs a day for 3 days, but i was going to do 18 hours on 6 hours off, because iv,e heard thats good for them, would it be alright starting that light cycle now. thank you for your help.

Yea, it will give the little babies some rest. What strain are you growing, what is your setup, what are your lights, type power, what are your fertz, we may be able to help you.

Yeah plants are pretty forgiving when they're young. 18/6 has been the best cycle for me

pure afghan and iv,e got a 60x60x160 secret jardin grow tent and 125 dual grow light, only a little set up just one or two plants at a time for my own personal stash

thats 125cfl dual light and the seed i used some potting compost my dad used to grow tomatos ha ha but it seems alright up to now touch wood.

You're good to make the switch. I'll spare you the rant, but after a fair amount of research I have yet to find a single scientific source, other than random people on the forums, that supports 24 hours of continuous light increases cannabis growth or yield. In fact, every non-cannabis piece of research I've found contains evidence that continuous light damages plants rather than helps them. I'm sure this is partly due to the fact that it's damn near impossible to do any meaningful university research on cannabis at this point, but I find it hard to believe that marijuana happens to be one of the few members of the plant kingdom who thrive in 24/0 light 18/6 - 12/12 is all you've gotta do from here boss.

dont forget to keep that light close wouldnt believe how many ppl stretch theye plants using cfls

i thought 18/6 too would be best because out in the world all the plants get there sleep, and ive been keeping lights 2inches above these cfl lights dont get to hot which is a worry i dont need when leaving my apartment last thing i need is a fire.
