As I understand from fellowgrowers the thing to do nowadays is using the 4 ft long led strips from Samsung.
But I am sure you looked into al of that already.
I really like COBs. lol I am looking at strips and quantum boards as options for side lighting where my lights must be closer to the plants. For overhead lighting replacements I like the cobs a lot. One nice feature is the ability to pop new chips in 4 or 5 years and for a couple hundred bucks have a totally updated light with more efficiency. The strips are awesome and I think that for the ends of my rows I could replace a 400 watt HPS with about 250 watts of strips. So thats in the future works for me. In the end I could get my 10kW rooms down to around 6500 watts while reducing the heat by a couple tons. Of course I would then be obliged to add more lighting where I can lol.
