Light green new growth? Help? Lol

Hi, I can't get a photo up right now due to camera quality (it would be really bad lol) but will get one up soon as, if possible.

Basically, I have some 'outisde' plants that are in veg right now. They are in Westlands John Innes #2, (potash, slow release nitrogen, medium soil nutritions, PH between 6 & 7 etc etc) and I have just been basically watering them when they need a water, and giving them say 7 drops of the high in nitrogen baby bio in a litre when they look like they may need some (once a week ish)

Anyway, my plants for about 5 days now have had extremely bright new growth (the tops seem to be getting darker very slowly but the rest of the plants younger growth is really light green compared to the rest of the leaves which are pretty dark green. I can't think why this is happening. And was hoping you guys could help me out. (Maybe it is growing slower than I was expecting also)

The only thing I can think of is this. (But it doesn't LOOK like nitrogen problem with it only affecting younger growth)

I re-potted them last week. I put them into 2 gallon pots instead of 1 gallon. I had been feeding them say 7 drops to a litre like I said, but when I re-potted them I fed them twice as much, but only because I was using twice as much water to drench all the soil. Was this a bad idea? Or would it not make much difference as they need a lot of nitrogen in the veg stage anyway? I haven't fed them anything else. Just let them take what they want from the JI#2 and the extra BIO.

I have also given them one 5ML dose of 'formulex' in case it was needing micronutrients. It hasn't made any difference.

Does it sound like I have over fed them or am I UNDER feeding them?

I really haven't given them anything else, so is THAT the problem? PH are fine with a prong meter leaning between 6 & 7, but one is leaning on 6 but has same color new growth (Will PH UP today but have been told to only use water as PH up at my local grow store but don't want to over water them)

Should I leave them? Should I drain them? Only it's been 5 days now and I'm paranoid it will stop it sexing or something when bloom pops this month :O

I had been battling with spider mites which ruined some of the lower leaves, ate them and made them lifeless but I have got those under control for now with 8ml neem, 1 litre water and about 8 ml 'simple' brand liquid soap. Even though the stupid neem oil works fine - but the leaves at the bottom that catch any excess are destroyed >:( Will be rinsing those off with extra water next time.

Help lol.

Any comments appreciated if I have left any information out can you let me know but that's all I can think of saying for now. Sorry there is no photo but I will try get a decent pic if I can.

Thanks. :peace:

They are just bag seeds by the way, and 4 are LST'd and 1 I have topped one. Just playing around, with it being my first try. :)

in my experience bud when i put them outside them lighten up some, for all i know i hit the nitrogen a little heavy inside but they go from darker indoors to lighter...if there is no yellowing then your good not a def id surmise your on track but i have been wrong once in my life before ;)

Thanks for the reply dude yeahh I been looking out for yellow growth but there is none, just looks a lot lighter than the more mature leaves is all. But I'm a bit of an anxious case anyway so I end up getting paranoid real easy but they are still growing, the tops are growing their flowers again after topping and fim'ing etc. The stalk is a nice thickness for the age, but do the newer growing 'branches' properly thicken & grow their size during flower? As they are not 'thick' yet.

What should I do about the plant which is 6PH? As it is already well watered. Leave it to dry out and then sort it?

Thanks for the reply again :) My brain feels a bit lighter now :D

I have found out what is causing the 6PH. The last thing I fed them was 'Formulex' with micro nutrients, I have just read up that Formulex, when mixed with tap water creates a PH of 6. So this is why, I'm pretty certain. Will buy some PH up tomorrow. They are starting to look a bit better now too, the green seems to be the right green not dark but not light :) Been hosing them down with water every sunset to avoid the little critters the best I can. Since my second spray of neem I haven't seen any signs of them again. Just a bitch it f_cked some of my bottom leaves lol. Live and let learn though hey.

instead of neem i like to use azamax and monteray garden insect spray WITH spinosad for prevention then maintence if a problem arrieses..sorry it took so long for a response can't get to internet as much as i use too...and your on the right path my man as long as new groth is lovely and lush your good and it sounds like you are..also if you were to use those products don't use past week 6 even then i feel it pushes it but the monteray garden spray works very well as a soil drench as a result turns the plant into a bug killer it absorbs the spinosad because its systemic so when a bug eats the leaves it dies ;)

Ok cool I will take that on board. Yeahh I did read that I shouldn't neem them that long into flower as it will ruin the buds in all kinds of ways. I have had no more issues with spider mites whatsoever since I sprayed them (fully) a second time. I have been spraying them on a weekend and drenching the soil slightly, (which I won't do too often) but with only 5ml of neem and half a litre extra water just so I don't over do it :) I have also used a separate bug spray a couple of times which is safe to use 3 times altogether with vegetables but not towards last weeks of flower, which I wouldn't. They seem fine.
And the leaves that I made the thread about actually turn a little darker once they have matured a bit. It just freaked me out at first seeing a different colour, with it being my first time lol. And the branches are thickening now too lol.

I will check out this Monterey Garden Spray. Even if I don't need things now I'm buying certain things for future use.

[EDIT:] Just realised I have repeated a couple of things twice ;P Sorry haha

Thanks for the reply ;)
