Light intensity and distance (spider farm 1000)

Hi folks,

I've just invested in a Spider Farm 1000 LED light for my tiny 60 x 60 x 140 tent. I'll be growing only one dwarf plant (Auto Kryptonite) starting next week.
I notice the light is dimmable down to 20% and wondered if anyone can offer any advice on what distance and intensity I should keep the light at, from seedling through to flowering. I'll be growing in 70% coco / 30% perlite. I also wondered that if space becomes an issue, would keeping the lights closer but less intense (dimmed) be an option?

EDIT: I should say that the manual states the following for distances which is what i'll use unless I hear better...

• Seedling: 24 - 30"
• Veg: 24"
• Early flowering: 18 - 24"
• Flowering: 12 - 18"

I have multiple SF-4000's and 100% is way too high even for early flower. I would raise them a couple feet from the canopy and put them at around 50% for younger vegging plants. You could turn it up higher and raise the lights up, but that's creating more heat and costing more $ so it doesn't really make sense. I shocked the crap out of my girls when I first put them under these lights. I'm thinking that I won't go past 75% until I'm in late flower. The girls just can't handle it.

1000w in a 60x60cm is this theoretical figures or does it actually draw 1000w from the wall ?
My initial thoughts are a bit big for a 60x60/2x2ft

An SF1000 is perfect for a 2x2. No, it doesn't pull anywhere near 1000 watts from the wall. LED companies call their lights all kinds of crazy misleading numbers. A general rule of thumb is to divide the # by 10. So, the spider Farmer "1000" actually pulls around 100w from the wall.

What did you end up doing as far as distance with the SF1000?

I'd think that 24" to 30" to start at about 50-60% would be plenty for seedlings, just be careful coz seedlings can't handle much! Work your way up every 2 to 3 days (or so) to 80% into early veg. YMMV.
