Light intensity and topping sanity check?

the plants look pretty healty tbh, im just worried about the roots.
I would be too, usually once you get rot you keep getting it. I bought chillers and it didn’t help and that was with 10ml a gallon of 35% peroxide. Only thing that changed things was sm90 and enzymes. I used them both at the same time so I am not sure if it was both of the products that helped or one..

eeesh... i've invested a heelia chiller, $$$$ but the res temp is good at the moment, so i've held back using it as it's winter here. ... and the LED dont help... I'm used to battling the heat, now I'm battling the cold.

Yeah so one guy said raising wattage but raising light is counter productive.

This is one of those situations where that is not the case.

If your too cold, raising the light and the wattage your plants are getting the same par but your also raising the air temperature too which it sounds like you'd benefit from

it's my first DWC run though, baptism of fire lol!
Have you tried chlorine yet? That’s what worked best for me. Not sure if you can get pool shock but if you can it works really well at keeping all the bad stuff dead.
There is a thread on here

I stand corrected lol. Never dealt with too cold of temps so didn't think about that..

Thanks... that's a good point.

The roots have really put some weight on since I cleaned the rez up, and are looking a bit better too.

I'll maybe try bumping the light power up in a day or so and see how they react.

I dont wanna try chlorine as i'm already using hydrogen peroxide as disease prevention after the near disaster and I think they both cancel each other out if I understand correctly?

Yeah they probably do cancel each other out but chlorine is far better at killing off all bad bacteria then peroxide. Chlorine is safe for humans and plants up to 5ppm

Thanks, I've been measuring water/nutes in EC rather than PPM from day one, mainly as there seems to be a few differnt ways /scales of PPM measurement so im tryin to keep it simple.

I'm currently keeping EC between 0.8 and 1.0, but I read that that's quite 'hot' for DWC, (more so for young veg plants?) or more than 1.0 is getting hot.

My tap water is 0.1 EC.

I'm not even using the water chiller yet as the res seems to have stabalised at about 17c/18c due to the cold ambient tempertaure here, (about 10c) fish tank heater is in overdrive at the moment though :-D

It will probaby come in handy in summer though.

Executive edit: the aluminum duct tape seems to be doing a really good job at res temp regulation on the lid of the resevour, just in case any one is wondering why my tent looks like the inside of Elon Musk's anus ...heheh !

Hopefully they've turned a corner, roots getting really fat and good veg growth... I've topped them but it doesnt really seemed to have slowed them down.

I've been hitting them pretty hard with the peroxide though, 80ml every 5 days.
