light leak from duct

I recently installed a tent and the ducts coming out of it are glowing pretty bright. was wondering if i could put some black spray paint on the inside of the duct if that would hurt anything? light is leaking from my cooltube down through a 90 degree turn into a hood next to the tent. so i was hopeing that flat black spray paint could fix the problem? would it hurt anything?

why does it matter are you using the room it leaks into? you should have air blowing through your cool tube so how would it hurt anything

The flower area is beside the tent and the hood getting light is of my flowering plants the tent is for veg...

... you don't need to worry about the amount of light lost, it's not significant. I would worry about the spray, the fumes are toxic to the plants...

be creative, use black dutch tape ;)

or do as I, use some Alu ducting and make a few bends (not sharp)

so you have a light leak from your flower room? your veg rooms light schedule runs longer than the flower room so why are you worrying about it its not gona disturb anything

i guess you dont understand what im saying.

ok i have a 1k watt light outside my tent for flowering with a hood on it. i have a 600 watt cool tube inside the tent for veg. i have a carbon filter that connects to the 1k watt light and then the duct runs into my tent to my 600 watt cooltube and then it is exhausted out the roof. i have a small booster fan to bring fresh air and exhaust warm air out of the tent into the room.

the light from the 600 watt is leaking into my 1000 watt hood reflecting a small amount of light into my flowering area if i turn the light on. i already have a 90degree angle in this ducting inside the tent. the only problem is the ducting is aluminum and its reflecting all the way back to the hood.

so my veg tent is the one leaking light into my flowering room. i need something i can put inside the duct to stop it from reflecting light into my flowering room which needs to be dark.

so the question was can i paint the inside of the duct black so light doesnt reflect into my flowering area. the fumes will not be in the room at all they will only be in the duct, right?

yea, just take it outside n give it time to cure. might need 1 on outside of tent too, see how it works out.

or could i just put some black pantyhose over the end of the cooltube that air comes in at that goes back into the flower room? and put some panty hose over any of the exhaust and intake ducts?

Black paint won't help that much. I tried the same thing with some of that semi-rigid flexible ducting that stays in position and even using flat black paint, light still will leak. Try putting another 90 degree bend in the duct itself.

I wrapped my ducts in 4 mil black poly sheeting and zip ties. I got 3'x50' for about $12 online and I've also used it to lightproof a box I'm rooting clones in.
