Light Question for 4x4 tent? 400 HPS + 250 HPS

  • Hey guys and gals, so quick question, I have a 4x4x6.5 ft grow tent. Currently I have 11 seedlings underneath a 250 MH with a cool tube and vortex fan. So I am gonna flower in about 4 weeks, and my question is, would a 400 what HPS and a 250 matt HPS ( my 250 W ballast is conver.) be enough for that size of a tent area? I was thinking of running two cool tubes side by side for more even canopy growth. First time growing indoors lol .​

Well currently I do not have the money to shell out for another ballast. I already have the 2 reflector hoods, ballast and bulbs. I just thought adding the 250 W might increase yields opposed to just a 400 W, thoughts?

well you'll be using closer to 750w of power with both of them running. 250's usually draw about 300w and 400w about 480w. personally imo the 400w would be enough for that size of space.

just use the 400 watt man save you power and i think thats plenty. if you reallly felt the need for more do you 400 watt and 2 small cfls

I'm going to be running a 400W CMH + 250W HPS in a 6 1/2'x4'x2' box, Ive heard some very good things about mixing CMH+HPS, apparently plants just love the mixed spectrum, I'll start a thread when I get things roolin and let you know how it goes.
