Light timer broke

I'm about 2 wks in to the veg cycle. Just realized my light timer has not been working correctly. I had the lights on a 18 on 6 off cycle. But what has happened is the lights have been on for 24 hrs for 2 - 3 days. What should I do? Return to the 18 on 6 off, or just leave it at 24 on???

dosent really matter in veg you can go back to 18/6 or stay on 24/0 just make sure you get a better timer for flowering as you dont want that to happen in flower

Get a water heater timer there only 30 bucks they can handle the amperage when everything starts up. That's the problem with the plug in timers they can't handle the amperage.

Just look at the back of the timer to find out how many amps and watts it can handle. Remember that most plugs run on a 15 amp circuit. My suggestion, unplug everything on that breaker and only use the plugs on that breaker for your grow room. You dont need a 40 dollar timer to do the job. Just get one that can handle the amps. Btw switching to 18/6 wont hurt them, but like someone said earlier, dont let that happen during Flowering.

For about 15.00 I get my timers from the hydro shop. They are 15amp 220, I use two 1,000 watt ballists which go from 11.5 110v to 5 220v. So my suggestion is if you are having timer issues try to switch to 220, this saves on the bill too. Most decent ballists will convert to 220v. Dont try it if you dont know electronics, you can start a fire or worse.

That's what I have also. Don't forget to add. you need atleast a 12-3 wire for a 25' run and bigger wire if the run is longer than that.
for anyone else your 120v 15amp receptacle is maxed out at 1800watts of load. You want a Saftey factor in there.
