light trascks

Hey anyone ever use a light track for their grow? I thought the principle sounded good, and everything i read says that they work mint. If you could gimmie a thought.

Most Track-Lights I have seen use funky little 25 or 50 watt "Hi-Intensity" bulbs (whatever that means) - not only are they unsuitable for growing, but they have a "Miniature" sized screwbase (about the size of your "pinkie"). I imagine some or them use a standard sized (E26) screw-in base, that could handle a CFL - but now we're talking "Big Bucks" for a CFL fixture!

I think he is talking about a light mover. I have one and highly recommend it. It won't increase your yield by a lot but you get more even growth. Best of luck.:weed:

I have a hydrofarm 6' light mover. I have a 1000Watt HPS bulb and my area is about 4' by 9'. I have been able to keep the tips of my plants with in inches of the glass with no burn!! I also air-cool my light so that helps but before I did that I had to keep the light a couple feet away still. The plants definitly grow more even but the middle ones are still the tallest by far since they are always in the light. I like the concept however I got the cheaper mover that runs on a chain. I have had that chain come off the track. I have had the pin come out of the chain and I couldn't get in back in. I had to manually move my light when I could so both ends could get some light. I had to buy another one and switch it out in the beginning of veg stage and it was a huge pain in the ass. Then the other day (thrid week of flower) the pin came out again! This time I got it back on the chain and it lasted a day then fell out again. Again I got it back in and it has held the last few days.

they work great when they work. If (and when) I do this again I would buy the more expensive model that didn't have a chain. At my shop the price difference was $100 compared to $200.

thanks for the info. I bought a 6 foot mover just cause i wanted to double the space and get a more even grow. So now i can have both my 600's on light movers set up so they both start at at different ends of the track and i dont have a 6 foot space with no real good light.
sweet ill keep you guys posted. I got cindy 99 pineapple cut goin, Iranian g-13 and bubba kush and they will all be under two 600's and 2 light movers in a 6x8 area. Ill post pics when the time comes

my light rail 5 helps even my growth out. i have a 6-4-6-6 setup(wattages of bulbs too many 00s haha) the 6-4-6 are inline and on the rail and my other 6 is a lil bit further away stationary over my 1st-3rd week systems. i want a 1k where my 4 is now to maximize my harvest but summertime is limiting that for sure...
