lighting comparison

I'm getting close to finishing up with my first official successful, I've got two 400w mh/hps w/ just the winged reflectors, cheap I know, I just wanted to get one or two grows under my belt before I invested too much. So I'm thinking my room is going to obviously get warmer in the summer time as I have no ac in my place and I've tried a swamp cooler with little to no success. My question is I want to try to keep my room cooler so what is the difference between an air cooled hood and an air cooled tube reflector? It seems like the concept is the same so I just don't quite get it besides the price and considering I've seen cheap works I just want to better understand if I should put more money up or stick to my cheap ways. Please let me know your opinions and if you have an explanation I would like to hear it better than just yea or nay, ya know, the whole learning process. Thanks

from what I understand... an air cooled hood versus a cool tube... the air cooled hood will give you better light coverage

If you exhaust away from the grow space, an air-cooled hood will be a major boon. I know someone who can keep growing in a desert summer because of sealed cooled hoods. cn

Air cooled hood has a better light pattern than the cool tube. As mentioned before.
the cool tube is lighter than the air cooled hood.
the cool tube stays a little cooler than the air cooled hood.
cool tube can be hung vertically to give you 360 degrees of light.
