Lighting For A Small Closet Grow

i was hoping to stay around 300$(cant imagine i could spend more for this small of an area unless i got the rediculously over priced LED like the ufo but ppl say they arent as good and i believe them) though i would be willing to spend more if it would be worth it.

i noticed u can pick what reflector hood you want it to come with, i was curious if the rounded glass on the CoolTube was better or worse then the flat glass bottom of the EasyCool or if it really doesnt matter, i like the style/look of the cooltube more but would prefer w/e is better for my plants.

i get the whole idea of multiple lights being better, but r u sure 2x150w is equal or better then a single 400w, i notice price range doesnt increase much when going from 150-600watt systems, sometimes the higher watt system is cheaper
Ideally you wouldn't want any glass between the lamp and your plants. If you had more space I would say go with the 400 or whatever would be best for that space, but I'm confident you'll be more than happy with the 2 - 150w HPS.

well i plan to start everything in the closet box and put the mother i choose for clones into fluoro lighting that i have in a small box just big enough for about 6 clones and there mother, the reason im now leaning towrds a 400w in cooltube is becuase im hoping with the 300cfm fan it will be enough to pull air through the filter and light and out the box creating suction for the passive intake to bring in new air, i made a quick diagram in paint, tell me what u think

If you're just exhausting that 400 into the room where the closet is, it's going to get recirculated back through the intake, thus negating the effects of the cooltube. You see?

If it get's cold during the winter or if you can somehow ventilate that room it will be manageable, but when summer comes you might find that your A/C isn't cutting it anymore.

damn so wat u telling me sort of is, 2 x 150w =300w total between 2 lights with no cool tube will be cooler/easier to control heat issues then a 400w single inside a cooltube with inline fan, what im wondering here is will that extra 100w really make that much more heat even if cooltubed?,

i 100% backup the idea multiple lights r better it just has to be right, BUT it is very possible in the near future i will be moving and if i aquire a larger space i would want to upgrade to 2 x 400w in a much more serious metal cabinet, i already have fluoros and woulnt have much use for the 150's if i did upgrade so i guess i rly just need to focus on how to get the 400w to work for me with what i got now, it gets frikkin freezing in the winter here and in the 90's in the summer

i suppose i could make a diy chiller with a larger beer cooler full of frozen gallon jugs and run the lights at night for the summer haha

would it be better to INTAKE the freezing air from window through the box, the lights and into the room OR to INTAKE the rooms air into the box and eject the hot air from the lamp outside

ALLinALL going 2x150 watt without going the 20$ econolight way will still be a little more expensive i think then 1 400w with cooltube + inline fan, and with the inline fan i could add oder filter

Shit dog! Get you the 400 and go with that then. Sounds like it won't be a problem, but yes.... 100 extra watts can potential be a serious issue, but I guess you wouldn't have to worry about it any time soon. Hell, I heat my home with HIDs during the winter.

Too many people saying even 2 150w will not be a good enough primary light source even though its a better light spread,

Now my last step is to figure out how to control heat for the winter and summer seasons...

To maintain the right temp's as easily as possible what way should i setup the ventilation? for (Winter) I have a electric heater with thermostat for the room, the exhaust will go into cold vented room but not directly outside

This my first setup, all advice/suggestion's for anything will greatly be apreciated!!! Thanks!!

Heres what i think i will be going with, along with a mspaint diagram of the setup(real pics will come soon!)

Buy the fuckin' light already. You can't account for the unknown, so just get it all running and see what you have to work with. If you need any help, feel free to message me.

Have to agree on this one! Go with the 2 150's and you'll be fine.

go with the 400water....your setup is pretty much exactly how my closet is set up...except i have the fan in the attic...you will be very surprised at how much heat that 400w gives off....u probably wont need a heater in that room.
