I have hydro system home made out of a 18 gal storage bin wich houses six plants. The system itself is around 3 cubic feet and I am thinking I can use a 125watt hps for flowering. The system is in a small closet will that be enough.Any thoughts thanks.

125w for 6 plants. ha :D

try upiing that ever so slightly to the 400-600w range :) i reckon you'd have nothing but fluffy airy buds that would weigh in at nowt.

with 400w and up though, you are going to have to look into actively ventilating and cooling the thing, but i ust do not think a 150w will cut it for any more than 2 plants

An 18 gallon tub is not that huge.
It would not be unreasonable to use a 150w light to cover it.
Definitely not ideal, but not the worst you could use..

if your grow room is in a room that can be dedicated to the grow, i.e noone is in there while it's lights off, then you could get away with having it open, that'll sort out temps. but if it's in an enclosed space, you WILL need cooling for that light. i live in a rented place, didn't stop me cutting a hole or two, it's nothing that i can't professionally patch over without much hassle.

how large do you plan on flowering the plants? as 6 plants ina 3x3x3 space is gonna be madess unless you do some damned good work at trimming and such. i flowered mine at 1 foot tall and they grew a further 4.

ah righto, i thoght you were growing in a 3 foot cubed box :D my bad.

my cabinet is 6 foot by 8 foot by 2 foot, it has a single 400w in there, and that would burn baby burn without the active exhaust. see how it goes and adpt if necessary :)

heres a question off the lighting subject I have always grown out doors and let the plants get abot 5 feet and would yield aroun 1/2 lb per plant how much yield can i expect flowering at 18 inches

depending on the strain it might reach 5 feet. typically i tihnk it's 2 - 3x the size once flowered.

and i use a cooltube so the cabinet stays below 80 degrees, without the exhaust fan it gets to the 100 mark.
