lighting for one plant?

i'm currently growing one plant in my room. as of right now i have one of those spiral bulbs that save energy. i'm not familiar with lighting at all really. i dont want to spend a lot on lighting. any help as to what type of lighting i should be using would be great.

How big is the room? only 1 plant? If you use cfl's then you want the "daylight" bulbs 6500k for veg... warm white for flower 2700k your gonna need more than one bulb...lol light and air are the 2 biggest things

those spiral types that are 2700k or 6500k these are the best you just wanna make sure you have enough of them i would say for 1 plant 100w should be sufficient
