Hi everyone.. so it boils down to either CFLs.. LED's.. what's best, what do you use and why? GOOOO!!!!
 
Used both - LEDs kick the shit out of CFL. More expensive to set up, but you won't need to replace bulbs and you'll save money on power bills, too.
 
If you already have cfl fixtures/sockets, you can kinda wade in the kiddie pool and use LED bulbs until you are ready for a real deal diy setup.
 
CFLs suck. End of discussion lol.

My plants always vegged much more vigorously, healthy, and fast under LEDs than any flourescent I tried. And considering LEDs are far more efficient, you need less watts to get the same effect.

A 26w CFL can barely deliver enough photons for veg 2" away. Any part of the plant more than 2" away gets no where near enough light.
