The ones at walmart work fine you don't have to spend on a specialty light. Just go to walmart and get a few 30w blues. They are great to slow veg under.

you cant add the two kelvin ratings together to make a higher one there specific numbers. 6500 k puts out more of a blue light great for green leafy foliage use that for your veg room. and to bud the plant out use the 2700 k it puts out more of a red light which is great for budding

If you want to have some decent production I would go with some 400w hps for flowing at the very least you can however veg the plants under those mentioned above and do pretty well.

and yeah if you want the best go with a metal halide for veg which is 6500k and high pressure sodium for bud which is 2700k with these lights you can get them at 100 watts all the way up to 1500 watts
