Hey everyone. Im from the covered society and i am new here. I am currently growing a new plant from seed, its about 2.5 - 3 weeks old. Its not very big as i just got my lights now. So what i want to know is if these lights are ok? And should i use the mini light on my seedling or the bigger one? Bigger one producing more heat is my worry. The little one doesnt get so hot. And wether my plant looks healthy? I see online everyones plants around my ones age are so much bigger. With leafs the size of ya palms. Am i doing something wrong? Also what can i do to speed the grow as much as i can? I want to harvest in about 2 months. I dont want pounds or ounces, just a bit to smoke for a special occasion coming up so is that possible? Will buds be potent enough for a good joint or two? I need help lol. Thanks. Email me if easier @ [email protected]IMG_20141105_180109.jpgIMG_20141105_175053.jpg

I would use both, not sure about why you would need nutes at this stage but I dont do soil. Maybe Im missing something??

Forget about harvesting in two months even if it's a fast flowering strain( any idea what strain?) it would mean flowering it in the next week. If your planing on growing more you'll learn a lot more from doing things in there own time . The only way to speed things up is how long you veg for , the flowing period is what it is you can't hurry her she's ready when she's ready . Take your time enjoy the process and you'll reap the rewards. Not enough. Info on set up to be more help .

A word of caution...do not throw a bunch of nutes at it With hopes of making it grow faster...and don't over water the little feller....also get more light and learn to be patient ...g/l

Its dirt from outside, just regular ground dirt with a bit of sand say about 70% dirt 20% sand 10% other stuff.... Lol. No nutes just yet. From a previous grow, one CFL got me a rather large plant. And also its too small to give nutes at this point? And im unsure on the strain, it was from a bag of weed i got, but it was decent weed so should be good.. And i cant grow a massive 5-7 month plant as i might be moving in a few months. So can i bud soon?

Your soil looks super sandy/loamy, but it may do fine ;) it is a weed after all!

Your girl is a lighter green, but nothing to worry about in my opinion. Im usually over cautious, so I dont feed any nutrients until I have a good four nodes or so - you are working on your second it seems. Once she gets bigger start out with quarter or half strength veg nutrients and do a feed - water - feed - water - ect schedule. I try to give plain water between each feeding at least once, again my be over cautious.

Those lights are ok, but you wont get much of a yield from just the two. You can use both on your girl now, just make sure you keep her far enough away that heat wont be an issue. Those are CFL lights, and I know that hey can pump out some heat. A good rule of thumb is, if your hand feels ok the same distance away from the light your plant is, your plants ok. If its too hot for your hand where your plant is, move it further away. Also, check your light daily - usually you'll hit a growth spurt once your seedling stabilizes, and it might shoot up towards your light quick.

That being said, if you want a bigger/better yield more light is needed. Check out some of the custom CFL lights people put together here and on google. Shitloads of CFLs in a small space can put out a pretty surprising harvest ;) If thats not possible because of a stealth issue, id suggest LED. Little more up front, but the good brands (area 51, advanced LED, ect) can pump out a hell of a lot of good light.

Finally, harvesting. If im not mistaken, you can start your girl on the 12 hours on 12 hours off light schedule from day one. That means she wont have any veg time, so she wont get anywhere near as big as she could. That would be your fastest way to an early harvest though, even though it would shoot your final weight. If you just want a couple joints though, should make it ok.

Hope this helped!

Doesn't have to massive plant or take ages , but it does need some structure before you can flower . I have a very short veg period compared to most but that suits my style of grow, if you go by the rough assumption that it will double in size from when it switches to flower you can see it has some way to go if your to produce any bud. Realistically at least another 2-3 weeks veg(yield will be very small still) 8-12 weeks flower depending on strain ,then a week to dry with no cure. I appreciate that it's just a bit of fun and your not looking to invest in it . I hope that's not dissapointing and let's hope it's a girl.

Thank you everyone. your help is much helpful. I think il let it veg for another 3 maybe 4 weeks. Then put it on 12/12 for a month? about the 12/12, does it need to be exactly 12/12? if one day it was 11/13 or 11.5/12.5 lol. or does it have to be exactly 12 hours light 12 off? just turn the switch every 12 hours? i dont have a timer so being precise could be a hill to climb... any more ideas and tips for me? once again thank you guys, great help

Yea, just head down to lowes or a hardware store and buy a timer for your light ;) they have easy ones for 10-20 bucks that you can plug in to. Flower will take a bit more than a month though. It may take up to two months to really finish the flower, thats why I suggested starting with 12/12. Anyhow, just depends on how much of a harvest you want.

Flowering, strain dependant may take a lot longer than 8 weeks as well lol. Just had a strain take 115 days to finish, it sucked lol.

It was shit lol but ya I figured it would be a good one!!! Nope, into the bho pile!!! OP may want to do an auto next time as you should get more than a photo in the same time frame but again strain dependant.

im not after ounces or anything as i stated in my post. I just want a decent amount for a special occasion coming up... Here in NZ we have things called tinies, tins ect... about 2 or 3 - 4 or 5 joints for 20 dollas. so would i be able to get about 4 or 5 decent size joints off of my plant if i start to bud in 2 weeks? or could i bud when it hits its 4th or 5th set of leaves? i am ALSO putting it out in sunlight when the weather is good so its getting a mixture of lights and sunlight? dunno if that will be of any advantage... If anyone needs pics to keep up with my grow just let me know.

Suns good when you can get it ;) cant really beat that for light. Just be safe with your security, not sure what your laws are down there!

Honestly, just let it grow until you are happy with its size then swap to the 12/12 schedule if you arent already running it. Usually your plant will add another 50-100% to its size during flower, so she will still be growing while you wait for harvest. Just eyeball your girl and you should be able to judge how things will turn out.

Just an example! Maybe let it get a foot or two tall, then start topping it to encourage it to bush out. Once you see the lower nodes push up and give you a nice canopy you could swap to 12/12. Just get a feel for your plant and make the call :weed: trust me, she will let you know how strong and fast of a grower she is by the time she gets to be a foot or so tall.

*just to be clear, if you are already running 12/12 dont change back. If you go from a full light veg schedule to flower then back to whatever else it can stress your girl and make her go hermie on you. That would ruin everything!

I had one 21w 1600 lumen light for the first month and then bought an other. it seems to do pretty well, but it's SLOW. I don't think you'll be able to rush it to 2 months.
