Lighting question

I am in the 4th week of flowering and it is my first grow. The buds looks nice, and smell amazing, but they are getting too close to the lite. I have bent the tops down as was suggested in another thread, and that worked for two weeks, but as expected they are growing toward the lite again.

I have had to top 4 plants already and dont want to touch another one!

MY QUESTION - Can I hang the lite like a coat in my closet, (where the lite is hanging down and shining lite sideways on the plants), as opposed to shining down on them?

I know its wordy, so sorry in advance, but I have not seen a similar question here yet, so any help is greatly appreciated.

yes thats perfectly fine. Alot of people have side lighting in addition to overhead lighting. If anything it migiht help bulk up the small bud sites that werent getting direct light before
