i just added 150 watt HPS to the cfl i was using, they were budding nice but i heard HPS is just better, about how far should the fixture be from the tops of colas???

1 to 2 feet depending on if hoods are vented or not

close as you can. a 400 is only good for up to 18 inches of good light penetration. keep the tops about 3 inches from glass in hood if thats what you have.,or as close as you can and stay under 84 degree at tops.
i wouldnt even have a 1k that far away form plants.

A 150 really does not throw out that much heat.I do not use a air cooled hood for mine and i keep it 6 to 8 inches from the tops without no problems,no burning or heat stress.

will a 150 be good for 2 plants in a box like 25in (L) 18in(W) and 3ft (T)?

i have a 150w CMH about 4-6 inch's away from my buds, an xxk a 150w HID will work very well for just 2 plants, keep them short with LST and dont veg to long, as they will double in size when you flower them.

3 foot dont leave much room for the light and a plant for hight. take a foot away for the light alone and left with 2 foot. better be flowering real small then

Yes will only be growin AFs in 2gal pots.Ne ways new to the HID lighting how do i know when buying the ballast kit if i can use with MH & HPS? Or are they all "universal" or switchable bulbs thanks guys here to learn & give my little advice/knowledge....

Just so tired of cfls and diy fixtures for them and how to postion them very annoying imo. ready to bump it up to HID

The 150 i seen only comes in hps.The 250 watt you can get a mh conversion bulb that works fine with your hps system.

i wouldnt touch a converssion bulb. weekest bulb there is. almost half the lumens as a reg hps or mh. and 2 gal pots are way way to big for the small veg time. auto wont make it smaller. a bit but now you have no control on veg time as an real auto flowers at maturity. and will be to tall. id use no more than a 1 gal pot. even half gal in there. im only using 2 gal pots and run multi big lights.l
and yes they sell 150 hps. will say on it what it is for mh or hps
