lighting question

My brother told me that it is possible to use reptile heating lamps for a grow opp, he told me this because they can run fairly cheep and im strapped for cash, do they actually work, and if so, how well?
please help the newbie!

can get cheap used lighting on craigslist

No dought that the lights would work but if i was you i would stick to a couple of good old fashioned flouresent tubes bothe datlight spec and cool tube.Have these at the top of the grow room on chains so that they are easy to lower and with them been cool you won't have heat issues.Then add a cfl on each corner of the grow box the highest watt you can i have some that =150 watt.This will give you a nice grow area for the time been and use very little electric.

A t-12 set up is cheap and works.

I have this set up I use from time to time.



They can grow into it for a few hours to a day they stay cool.

My set up is (4) 24" T-12's 20 watts each at 6500k it's a light blanket.

I also have some 2600ish k's (don't use but may add to my hps room for some side lights).
These thing may be old school but you can not f--- it up.




Also as said above craigslist and yard sales.

I got this light and ballest for $25 at a yard sale. 430 watt hps
