I have a friend and he was wondering he has a 9X7 room and he was on htgsupply.com looking at new hoods/and reflectors he was wondering if geting a air coolable is better the hood was the Easy cool 8 Reflector or just using ac to contol tem and using the Open Air Reflector was the Sun Soaker Reflector any suggestions?

Also one more question he had was can you put T5 lightbulb in just any refletor you pick up from Lowe's or homedepot or does it have to be a T5 syatem? if so where is the cheapest place to get it or get it online?

By the way he has a 440 w and 1000 wat hps's wich would be best overall with the reflectors?

I prefer a air cooled hood with a temp controlled fan cooling it. This way if you need some heat the cooling fan will shut down and allow the lamp the heat the room. All maybe be good in the room now but when summer comes back around youll be wishing u had the vented one.

the only caveat to air cooled hoods is that you need a blower or centrifugal fan to run them. Don't go for the cheap booster fans, or anything else, if it can't handle the pressure it's not going to cool properly.

If you can get the fan for it, then air cooled is the way to go. Few grows end up with no heat issues, and if you don't seal the light vent off from the room it has the added benefit of giving you proper ventilation as well :)
