Lighting upgrade 2x300w or 1x450w

Hi all, as a test ive done a couple of auto grows under a 300w LED. Bud turned out nice just not big yields. As its worked well I'm going to upgrade my light. Am i better with 2 x 300w LED or 1x450w LED. Tent is only 2.5x 2.5ft

What kind of LED is your 300 watt? A high quality 300 watt LED is capable of over a pound. Could have been something else that knocked your yield down? I would look at the whole picture before you bin your light.

Do you have a link to your current lamp? That would help a lot. 450w would be way overkill if it is 450 actual watts and good LEDs.
With good LEDs, you shouldn't need much more than 35w/sqft to reach high light levels and grow good bud.

2.5 x 2.5 = 6.25 sqft
6.25 x 35w = 218w total.

Just a simple basic viparspectra 300w LED so i know its no way near 300W output.

Yeah sounds like that could be your problem. If you want a decent light don't buy anything that the local grow shop wouldn't sell. All the eBay/ Amazon only brands are kinda shit

Local grow shop to me do stock them and i was told yes they arent the best but for price its done well, certainly paid for itself on the first grow. would you suggest any specific brands to look at? I might just go for the additional 300w to test it out on a grow - i know someone that will buy it off me if i dont want it for his nursery tent

A HLG 260 rspec would kick ass in your tent
