Will those swirl flourescent lights work (the one made to go in a regular incadescent fitting in your house)? I have 3 26 watt with 1750 lumens, and was wondering if a theoretical individual were to legally grow one plant, would this be enough?

welcome to the site, Haulin!

I don't use floros but that doesn't seem like enough lights. something to consider growing just one plant - unless you are growing from clones - you will be screwed if it is a male or hermies on you. strongly recommend more than 1 plant (4-6 is a nice small number and greatly increases your chances of a girl) - but like i said if you are growing from clones - no worries.

Flouresants need to be almost touching the plant to be effective at all. They ARE good for rooting clones , though. Put the back of your hand up to the light, then move it away slowly, can you see how fast the light gets weaker? They don't project the light very well so a 2ft plant gets little light below the growing tip. A 250-400 watt halide would be great if you're growing from seed. 250 is good on short clones. 10 short clones produce more than 1 tall "from seed" plant if sq footage is why you want only 1. Just my opinion...
