13o off of 315w that's awsome. Does the cmh put off any rfi?
I've gotten the same as @genuity from a 3.5 x 3.5 x 3' with 4x 5gal Blue Dream's and one plant got some kind of root issue and only produced about 1/2 what it should have. With the right strain and clean run these can pull 13-16 zips, strain being the key imo.

I've run one of them for a little over a year, now run 2 of them and have a house full of electronics, I haven't seen anything that would indicate any sort of interference.

@Flash63, I bought mine when our dollar was closer to the US dollar, but I got one quote in Canada at the time and it was 30% more all-in, probably still cheaper to buy these in the US. Growershouse.com will have 10% off sales which take it to around $450 USD for the 120v and $425 for the 240v. With no reflector, or if you prefer bare bulb setups someone linked to advancedtech, they run ~$220 US for a ballast/bulb combo.

Running 2 of them side by side they cover off up to 3.5 x 7' well...

Heat wise they're between hps and LED. In my case I'm running 630w in a 4x9x7' room, no hoods or extra cooling, just a 4" inline for incoming air and 4" exhaust. I was running same wattage in LED's and they only brought my temps up 3-4F over the LED's. not bad at all.

Il be running 3-5 tables about 4x8, sounds like i could do more with these 315s but the upfront cost is just crazy. Il probably just do 3 x 4x8 tables with gavita de's set at 600w. I have a buddy getting anywhere between 1.25-1.5lb per light at 600w.

I guess it would be a cost factor to me, i know the cmh puts out A LOT frostier product and the yield is fantastic for the wattage.

for canadians checkout sunlight supply, they have international retailers in canada. a few in BC and a few in ON

ya i think sunlight supply would be better

http://growershouse.com/sun-system-lec-315-light-emitting-ceramic-mh-fixture-120v = 491usd/651cad
https://www.sunlightsupply.com/shop/bycategory/lec-lep-led/sun-system-lec-315-light-emitting-ceramic-fixture = 609cad

shipping and customs from the states would be alot too. If there was something i couldnt find in canada i would go with them.

EDIT nevermind i fuckedup...sunlight supply is 609usd!!!//808cad!!!

definately go with growershouse
Yeah, not a lot of options up here, and when there is, prices tend to be higher on almost anything, even with today's exchange #$!^

My sun system 315 came from cali and it was initially 582 US with shipping, so 733 Canadian. They called and asked for another 121US/154 Canadian for shipping, not a problem, I just want to be able to obtain quality meds at home. K, after the call, felt kinda suckered.... Come home after work one day and the wife had signed for the packed, Pumped..... oh hey you owe me 250 bucks. The f+_ken brokerage fees and duty and taxes were 250 bucks. Get it shipped to a boarder city shipping depot and drive over and get it, pay the taxes coming back into Canada and have some vegetable garden accessories to make it legit. First run right now and the girls seem to really like it. Keeps the room at a decent temp with no ac.

Wow, never had those issues buying mine (LEC Sun Systems 315w/120v) through growershouse.com, best price I got on there was USD $430.81 + $88.03 shipping for the 315w/120v all-in (2nd one was $448 + $88.03 shipping). Fortunately that was early last year when our dollar was still around par though. No duties/taxes or any other charges. For the LEC Sun Systems, growershouse.com still seems to be the cheapest and they'll have 10% across the board on lighting once in a while if you're not in a hurry...

as far as I know the ballasts needed to run the Phillips cmh are just regular mag core 400w hps.. no need to order those from the states..

Hey GroErr, kinda in the middle of the bush/country so the shipping was a little heavier I guess, found the UPS importer slip, it wasn't 250 extra just 205.
Duty fees 44.72
HST 88.87
Brokerage Fee 62.39
Brokerage HST 8.11
Total Value for Duty was 638.90

Ya could of built it out of parts probably from the electrical supplier but the size of the whole fixture and the reflector are a great fit for the room.

They're still worth it, per square foot these produce a nice amount of green. DIY Cree COBs come close in price but more like ~$2.50/watt up here all-in. But you have to get your hands dirty, can't just unpack the box and turn it on ;)
