Lights for a 5 x 5 grow

Hello all,

I have a 5 x 5 grow area in my attic. I'm planning on growing only 2 plants at once and am not sure if these lights will suffice. GE, F20T12PLAQ, 20W, Fluorescent Light Bulb, For Aquarium & Plant Use, 24" x 1-1/2" Diameter, Bi Pin Base, 750 Lumens. Also, I will have two fixtures, each with one of these bulbs; one per plant you could say.

I found these laying around my house and if i can save some cash on using these rather than buying new ones that'd be great! If i were to use these, what type of result might i get?

if you can do both, the more light the better, leave the tubes on top and have a few cfls around the sides, get info on which cfls to get for veg and flower.

My money says you'll end up seriously disappointed. Get at VERY least a 250, or 400 MH for veg (HPS for flower) but if you want to have a great product, go with 600 watts for a 5x5 spot.

This is my week seven shot from a 4x4 space running 600W:

If you choose to go CFL, then your best off getting the much larger ones, 125 watt or the 200 watt which is what Im using to veg, because you get much shorter inter node length because of how close and how much light is available to the plant. CFLs are great for plant growth, just weak on the lumens, so Id recommend doing a MH with a 200watt CFL, or with HPS. Get the best of both worlds.
