Lights for autos?

Anyway, had a look on E-bay and Amazon and same light $525. Cobs with kree or citizen only little extra. Hydro guy reckons because full spectrum with built in cooling and interchangeable 100w globes,50,000 hrs,will do all cycles of growing and flowering with no need for heat ventilation, like you said all the bells and whistles,so i got pretty wrapped up in it. Just don't know what to do,really app your honesty though. They seem to be goin alright so suppose play by ear for now.Do you think if i hook up 2 T5's vertically as well,would that help?. Being in a closet with no vents besides 2 12in fans,it's all bout keeping heat down.

That light may do well enough for you. So don't get to worked up over it. It's just unfortunate the guy who sold you the light knows little about it as well. You can look at the efficiency like mpg. 20 miles per gallon vs 50 miles per gallon. If your running a light for 20+ hours a day you can see where the light with higher efficiency is beneficial, or the car with better fuel mileage can save you money. Not only is the amount of light per watt low that puts the total amount of light much lower than expected too. I understand this is hard to read but it is the truth. Don't get worked up, I'd suggest reading a bit and learning from this.

Hey Big smo,not getting worked up,more like feeling worked over. Known this guy for little while and actually trusted his advice. He knew i was newbie and didn't understand light ratios and pars or effeciency,techno babble to me. What sold me was full spectrum and no need for any other lights right through to flower. Hard pill to swallow when some one with more knowledge and a genuine attitude lets me know made bad choice. That's what life's all about,the choices we make and how we move forward. And for you my friend to take time to explain this to me means a lot so pains not so bad,we live and learn right? i'd take 1 of you to 5 hydro guys any day

I appreciate that. Most guys, myself included get very defensive when they hear things like this. Mine came here on RIU as well about 1.5 years ago. That link explains a lot and is nothing but truth. If you wanted to get deep in it that's also here on RIU too. Most don't and I don't blame them.

I say use the light. Let it pay you back. Slowely build up funds if it's not performing like you hoped and upgrade. None of this talk means it won't work. It just means it won't work as well. Those cobs are also prone to problems. Put on a pair or two of sunglasses and check them regularly. If it does start burning out leds inside the cob you could hopefully return it. Either way it would be nice to hear how you do with the grow and how it worked, good or bad. I wish you and everyone else the best and fruitful harvasts.
