Welcome to the forum. With those parameters, get the 400 watt. I would suggest you check out t-5 lighting as well. 3x3 by 6' high is workable. Whats the rest of the plan?? We like pictures. Got any pictures. VV

you can also use reptile lights. they really help with good growth. they put out ideal UVA and UVB rays. u should get 1-2 uva and uvb full spectrum lights and a 400watt MH. with uva and uvb lights u see results quick. the first day i used them they grew fast u can see the results right before ur eyes.

I would recommend looking at led instead, the benifits are great, i am in the process of switching from a 1000W HPS to a full led system for a 2x4 area. No heat, no fan, 10 year bulb life, able to adjust amount of blue/red light mix. I am currently adding reds to the hps to finish out this run, next run all led. Check em out at growwithled.com. I recommend these bulbs. buy the bulbs only tho, find scrap old track on craigslist or something....

Maybe you should look at that tmc kid's post on his LED grow... you'll find it was anything but successful. Good luck with that one buddy.

hydro huts are plug and play. it is so much more cheaper, however, to build a small grow room for that 400w. check out youtube for a 9part video of a guy who paints himself green. he builds a 400watt flower room hydro.

I watched the string on the led grow carefully. A. he said it was his first grow. B. He had improper drainage. C. He had some kind of light leak during the dark stage. D. he had 2 ionizers 2 feet from the plants! I love My HPS don't get me wrong, it works great. It is just not the most efficient way. There is a university of Minnesota experiment done with the growwithleds.com red xb lights, they used a 400w HPS, 3 red Xb's, and natural sunlight. The red led's out performed the 400w HPS, and the sunlight!!! in an exactly identical growing environment. Several Organic produce farms are switching over to led lighting now. There is more "Food" in the red and blue light spectrum's for the plants. Red for flowering, witch is why we typically use HPS for this, and Blue for Veg, or MH/CFL. We know green is invisible to plants right. so 100,000 lumens of green light wont do a damn thing. right? You guys that love your HPS need to understand, its not about the lumens, as much as the spectrum that the light puts out.

400 watt is best but you could get away with a 250. you will still neeed to exhust that hat air. Those things are hotter than hellfire

yeah i guess overall if you wanna compare just to a conventional bulb a led would be efficiant ill definantly look into it when i get some money together. quick question i put another skunk special seed sprout in some soil like 3 days ago it still hasnt broke ground. is that normal? how many days before ground breaking. i got 2 other skunk specials going right now i cant stop looking at them
