Hey there just looking for some fresh answers to an old subject! Don`t really need a story, just wanna know from the guys who have been doin this for awhile what they have best results with.

I really am into a 600w hps but being told no one uses them, its all about 400 or 1000. any suggestions:roll::roll:

Also what would you recommend for a beginner, not looking into ph, no budget for much of an exhaust or intake.

Just bare bones, good soil mix, basic nutes and.... 2 400 hps - or 1 600 hps - or spend the extra 100 and get a 1000hps.:bigjoint:

in the future there will be all the bells and whistles but right now i just want the proper ligh for aprox 30 good clones to start with, in a room thats generally dark and damp (basement)

Thasnks guys!!!

2 four foot flourescent bulbs in cool white or gro lux to veg, depending on how many plants you may use more.

400 - 1000 watt HPS to flower with.

That's what you need and you'll have a decent grow as far as lighting goes.

lighting.. hmm spend the money and go 400w hps air cooled, you will be extreamly satisfied, because with it being aircooled you can cut the distanse down some. and the ph plays a heavy factor a simple ph test kit costs 7$

who told you that nobody uses 600w lights? there is absolutely nothing wrong with a 600w hps light, those things aint fucking around at almost 100000 lumes

I am on my first grow and using a 600w HPS in a 3.5' square enclosure. The thing gives off an insane amount of light that my plants gobble up. I have a grow tube that allows me to get the light quite close and not heat the plants. My plants grow so much I have to adjust the light at least once a day.

so what do you all think about useing a simple high pressure sodium bulb 100 watt per set up per plant. Put the plants as close as you can (3) and use three set ups plus alot of cfls around the sides..... Will this produce the good stuff or not??/ Thanks

I use a 600w hps side by side with a 400w mh and have great success at 6 weeks having to flower because i am going out of room

600 watt is supposed to be the most efficient, the bulbs are around the same price or more than 1000 watt so you might keep that in mind. If you stay at 400 or below you can pick up bulbs locally if you get in a pinch. With the 600 or 1000 you will probably need to order them online.

So you use both spectrums while vegging and u say that works just fine? How about budding? You say ur running outta room so I assume 12/12 but just with the 600 hps or are u including the MH for extra lumens??

I've just been told a 1000w is harder to work with because of heat and having to be really careful with how close you can place the light to the canopy.

I personally like the idea of a 600 because the heat is less, the lumens are great, and its just in the middle sorta say for my size garden.

Theres a shop where I can get all kinds of stuff so I never order online.

I've attached a copy of the unit I'm interested in. If anyone else is interested I've been told by the rep to spread the word. no tax, discounts on multiple orders, etc
