Lights?

I was @ HD today looking at work lights, you know the portable work lights that use halogen bulbs. So I was thinking for $16.00 I could have a 500watt light. So the question is does that halogen light work the same as the pricie lights(mh, hid)??? Could i use that simple $16.00 light fixture that produces 500watts instead of $200 fixture and get the same results??

Those things get hot as hell and the bulbs are very fragile. If your strictly vegging why don't you go with florescent or T-5's

I'm doing fine with my T8 and CFL's i was just wondering if they produce the right light to grow with. Thats all! Is halogen the same as a mh or hid?

Sorry, Halogen is ineffective in regards to plant growth. If you don't have money to spend just look into CFL bulbs. You can get 6 bulbs, a power strip, three plug in sockets and three y-sockets, and you're set for a 1x1 to 1x2 grow for <$30.
