OK, I've been growing in a closet for a few months. Females are now about 2 feet tall and flowering. I've got them on a 13-hour light cycle. Problem is, because I don't have a lot of space, the cuttings I took from them have to share the same closet. The closet is divided, with half the space for hanging clothes and the other half shelves. My mother plants are in the clothes-hanging part, while the clones are on the bottom shelf just a couple feet from the mothers.
One thing I'm wondering is, will the clones be OK with a little more than a half day of light? Basically they are on the same light regime as the mothers. My main concern is that I don't want the babies to start flowering until after I harvest the moms in a month or so.
Here's a possible solution that I came up with. Since plants can't "see" green light, and since it's pretty hard to keep light from leaking out of the clone area and throwing off the timing of the mothers' flowering, I'd like to put a sheet of green plastic between the two groups of plants. That way, any light that reaches the moms during their dark time would be green, basically the same as no light at all. Then I could run the lights on the clones 24 hours and it would not affect the mother plants... at least that's what I'm hoping.
Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.
